Put down your suitcases in the pretty town of Arles for a stay at the rhythm of life in Provence. Located in the heart of the Camargue, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Arles is the largest commune in metropolitan France with its 759 square kilometres.
Arles, a city with an important historical heritage, has more than a hundred listed monuments from Romanesque and Roman art. Stroll around the Amphitheatre, the Ancient Theatre, the Baths of Constantine, the Roman Circus... a few examples among many others of the many buildings that must absolutely be visited in Arles.
The city is also famous for being strongly involved in art and culture, since the famous painters Van Gogh and Picasso both spent a few years in Arles, inspired by the beauty of the place. You can also visit many exhibitions dedicated to them, including the Réattu museum, located rue du Grand Pireuré and the Van Gogh Foundation, rue du Docteur Fanton.
Besides the painters, it is also the photographers who meet in Arles, during the Rencontres internationales de la photographie which take place during the summer. Like every year since 1969, this great meeting of photo lovers will allow you to discover multiple exhibitions scattered throughout the city. For the more curious, projections and photography courses will also be on the programme.
Arles is a lively and festive city where many celebrations are organised throughout the year. In April, do not miss the Easter Fair of the city of Arles. This festival around the world of bullfighting is a must for the city at this time of year : in a traditional and festive atmosphere, you will vibrate to the rhythm of Spanish music and folklore through street concerts and bullfights.
On the beach side, those for whom holidays on the Côte d'Azur rhyme with long relaxing sessions under the sun will not be left out. Along the 7 kilometres of the beach of Piémanson, in a totally protected natural area, you can fully enjoy the charm of the Mediterranean coast. On the program : swimming, sand castles, hikes by bike, on foot or on horseback, but also kites, quad bikes and sand yachts will amaze young and old.
Finally, for nature lovers, unthinkable to leave Arles without having discovered all the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. In the north of the city, take a walk in the limestone Alpilles mountain range, here the olive trees make all the charm of the landscape. South of Arles, you will discover a place where men, horses and birds live together in harmony : the Camargue. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the site is ideal for hiking with family or friends. You will discover beaches, pink flamingos, local manads with horses and Camargue bulls, but also an incredible flora and a rich agriculture based on the cultivation of rice, salt, cereals and vines.

Good address in Arles, the restaurant "L'Entrevue": very good welcome and cool atmosphere. Very nice canoe trip on the Pont du Gard bridge with Kayak Vert. The Camargue village is very well located geographically which allows to visit the surroundings, very beautiful villages.

Visit "Les carrières de lumières" (by booking tickets in advance) and take the "Le Tiki" boat trip. A restaurant not to be missed: the Pueblo restaurant in Albaron (take the opportunity to visit the "Maison du riz").
