After being abandoned, what some called the "useless fort" became a military prison and then a film and television star in France and throughout the world. Finally, more useless than some would have us believe, Fort Boyard, a real colossus of the seas 68 metres long, is today the most famous fort on the planet. If it is impossible to enter the fort, you can still opt for beautiful coursières around the latter, accessible by cruise boat, kayak, sailboat, paddle, motor boat, catamaran or boats from the three ports of Fouras and the surrounding seaside resorts : we assure you that the adventure is worth it ! Nice little town with a pedestrian street with all the shops; asks to be seen; restaurants: "L'Océan" or "La Fumée"; very nice view on the Island of Aix and Fort Boyard.
