Then discover the historical centre of Ajaccio and its fabulous heritage. Founded in 1492 by the Genoese, the old town seduces with its small, colourful, typically Mediterranean streets. As you walk through them, you will appreciate the neoclassical church of Saint-Roch, the central market and the Fesch museum which houses, in France, the largest collection of Italian paintings after the Louvre. But also follow in the footsteps of the city's most famous native, Napoleon, by visiting his birthplace, now a national museum, the imperial chapel and Santa Maria Assunta cathedral where he was baptized. Finally, go and admire the beautiful palaces and the many Belle Époque villas in the foreigners' district.
With its unique environment, Ajaccio invites you to beautiful walks. In the heart of the city, the Nature Trail, dotted with 18 botanical resorts, offers you the opportunity to discover the green landscape of the city. If you wish to venture a little further, take the ridge path which runs along the coast from the historic centre to the relief of the Sanguinaires islands. But also explore the site of La Parata, at the western end of the Gulf of Ajaccio, to enjoy its beautiful Genoese tower and extraordinary views over the Mediterranean. Back from a walk, treat yourself to a good meal to taste the local specialities : coppa, figatelli, myrtle, honey, brocciu, fiadone, Ajaccio AOC wines...

The beach of Capo Di Fenu is really ideal not to stay on those of Ajaccio where there can be a lot of people. It can be reached in 15 minutes from the center of Ajaccio. The restaurant "Le 20123" is to be discovered.
