Hanging on a cliffside facing the Gulf of Valinco, on the steep slopes of Punta di Buturettu, the picturesque village of Olmeto has all the assets you need to spend a good holiday under the sun in Corsica.

What stands out when you arrive in Olmeto is its authentic character, unique in its kind: in the heart of fertile plains dotted with hundred-year-old oaks and olive trees, this village is recognizable by its high houses with red tiled roofs. With its old cobbled streets worn down by time, its vaulted passages, its old Genoese towers (Micalona and Calanca) pierced with loopholes and protected by old machicolations, Olmeto is a real leap back in time to discover everything that makes the history of this little corner of the Corsican paradise. The ideal way to visit it is still to opt for beautiful walks, or cycling on its dedicated paths. You will discover the remains of the convent of St. Anthony built by the Capuchins in 1711, the Romanesque church of St. Mary of the 9th century (worth a visit for its magnificent organs), the Chapel of the Holy Spirit and many other listed monuments.

In addition to a very attractive architectural heritage, Olmeto has a splendid natural heritage, preserved and abundant. To discover it, nothing is easier thanks to the (very) numerous hiking trails that dot its surroundings. Hikers, cyclists or equestrians, these itineraries through mountains and coastal paths (such as the GR 20) will allow you to discover a more "wild" and so pleasant Olmeto, ideal for rejuvenating yourself. The thermal springs of Baracci are the ideal place for a relaxing break in a dream setting, elegant and conducive to escape: known for their benefits since antiquity, the sulphurous waters of Olmeto are among the most popular in South Corsica. In the heart of the Baracci Baths, you can enjoy a swimming pool, saunas with sulphurous water, a hammam, jaccuzzis, or even hydro-massage baths perfect to stimulate blood circulation while letting go.

If you come to Olmeto for a holiday, it is also for its beaches, each one more beautiful than the next. Along the Gulf, more than 20 kilometres of magnificent beaches await you, alternating long family stretches with small intimate coves lined with turquoise water, ideal for visitors seeking tranquility. The wild beach of Baracci, the very discreet beach of Capicciolo, the cove lined with rocks of Calanca, the beach of Tenutella, those of Abbartello, Scodi Neri, the Ruesco, not to mention the magnificent beach of Marinca and its translucent water, are all splendid beaches where it will be nice to plant your parasol during the hot summer days. Finally, as far as water sports are concerned, you will have only a few choices: boat trips (from the nearby port of Propriano), kayaking, scuba diving, jet-skiing, surfing, water skiing, kitesurfing, sailing, paddle, wake-surfing, towed buoys, wakeboard... You will have understood that Olmeto is the ideal place to spend a holiday with family or friends!
