The perched village of Pont-de-Barret nestles comfortably at an altitude of 240 metres in the hollow of the majestic mountains of Briesse, Essor and Sainte-Euphémie. In the Dôme department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, Pont-de-Barret is located in the heart of the Drôme Provençale, on the "Silk Road", between Cevennes spinning mills and old Lyon factories. It is a rural community located about twenty kilometers east of Montélimar, and lives peacefully on both sides of the Roubion river, which flows through it. Its name, Pont-de-Barret, comes from the bridge, classified as a historical monument, which links the right bank of the village to the left bank. On the right bank side, the houses are old, easily identifiable, the streets are full of charm, cobbled and winding, which gives this area a picturesque side immeasurable. On the left bank, you will discover the old village of Pont-de-Barret, where a splendid church stands proudly, the church of Notre-Dame la Brune, also classified as a historical monument. From the promontory of this church, you can discover an absolutely sublime panorama on the west and the south of the region. In order not to miss anything of its beauty, the village of Pont-de-Barret has been equipped with walking routes, in the direction of Notre-Dame la Brune, but also on the right bank of the river, paths that will allow you to reach the statue of the Virgin of the Vow, erected just after the Second World War.

If hiking is the main activity in Pont-de-Barret, sports enthusiasts as well as experienced sportsmen will be able to take advantage of a plethora of activities to be practised, on their own, with their family or with friends. If many walks start from the quays of the village, you will also find multiple routes for bike rides, and can also practice climbing on the side of the beautiful rocky bars and cliffs that overlook the village, and offer superb climbing routes for lovers of climbing, whether they are novices or experienced. Fancy a swim break? In the former park of the castle of Pont-de-Barret (a castle of which there is not much left), north of the village, take the time to walk along the Roubion: you will discover an absolutely splendid natural site, where you can have a picnic, and bathe in magnificent natural "jacuzzis". And if you prefer water activities to swimming in the river, head for the Montélimar leisure centre 35 minutes away: mini golf, sunbathing on the beach, swimming, inflatable courses, paddle and pedal boats are all available. What to make your holidays in Pont-de-Barret unforgettable!
