In the Aravis Massif, in the heart of Haute-Savoie, lies the small village of Saint-Jean-de-Sixt. Land of escape, nature, sports and gourmet, it is the ideal place to enjoy the calm of the mountains, whether you like winter sports or summer activities.

A little corner of paradise located between Switzerland, Lake Annecy and Mont Blanc, the resort of Saint-Jean-de-Sixt is situated between the resorts of La Clusaz and Grand-Bornand. Thanks to its privileged location, the commune is a real jewel, which nature lovers cherish and preserve. Above all a family village, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt can see Mont Lachat de Châtillon, Roc de Charmieux and Montagne de Vaunessin from its 960 metres above sea level. With its typical architecture of the region, made up of old farms and small mountain chalets with elaborate balconies against the backdrop of the Aravis mountain range, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt is one of those postcard destinations that are the envy of many. Summer and winter alike, you can visit the village by many means, on foot, horseback, bicycle, snowshoes or skis, depending on your desires and the weather conditions. If there is one thing to do, it is certainly a paragliding experience: from the sky, you will be able to enjoy dazzling panoramas, white and immaculate when winter adorns the village with its big white coat, or green when the cold gives way to spring or summer.

As far as skiing is concerned, there are two areas just waiting for you. The Aravis ski area, which has no less than 220 kilometres of ski runs for all tastes and levels of ability, runs that will also take you to the resorts of La Clusaz, Manigod, Saint-Jean-de-Sixt and Le Grand Bornand, or opt for the small family runs in the Crêt area. With its two green runs, two blue runs and one red run, this tiny area served by two lifts will be perfect for intimate skiing. Toboggan runs, snowshoe hiking trails (18.5 kilometres in the commune) and 6.5 kilometre cross-country skiing loops (alternatively), ice skating rink, ski joëring, sled rides with dogs, mechanical sports, snow yoga, mountain biking on snow and swimming pool complete the range of activities that you can enjoy while passing through Saint-Jean-de-Sixt. On sunny days, in addition to mountain biking or bungee jumping for thrill-seekers, it is hiking that wins the hearts of holidaymakers passing through the resort. The "Circuit du Nom" (2.2 kilometres), but also the Danay circuit with its 360° panoramic views over the Thônes valley and the Aravis mountain range (2.9 kilometres), not forgetting the Suet walk known for its wonderful view of Mont Blanc, the Bargy mountain range and the Grand-Bornand, are all unmissable itineraries for discovering all the most beautiful faces of Saint-Jean-de-Sixt, a paradise of nature adored in winter and summer alike. Finally, Lake Geneva (70 kilometres away), Aix-les-Bains (60 kilometres away) and Annecy (20 kilometres away) are all close by, so we can only advise you to make a stopover there, for incredible views in perspective!
