It is in the heart of the sumptuous Parc National des Ecrins that is the village of Vallouise. A destination adored by nature lovers and immaculate settings of rare beauty, Vallouise can boast of being a typical mountain village, with its beautiful chalets and timber-framed houses. A family holiday destination and a human-sized town, it is linked to the Pelvoux-Vallouise and Le Puy Saint-Vincent resorts, allowing snow sports fans to enjoy some 100 kilometres of slopes, perfect for beginners and advanced skiers.
Nestled in the heart of the highest peaks of the Ecrins massif, Ailefroide and Pelvoux, Vallouise enjoys an ideal location for long days of discovery and sporting activities. Perched between 1250 and 2300 metres above sea level, the ski resort with 25 kilometres of slopes has enough to seduce families in search of authentic stays, far from the crowded ski resorts. A paradise for snowshoe lovers, Vallouise is famous for its numerous snow excursions, linking Vallouise to Pelvoux, via Puy Saint-Vincent, Ailefroide, the Pissette waterfall and the Chouvet hut. Alone or in groups, as a family or as a couple, the beauty of immaculate landscapes will only amaze you. The calm of the valley is the ideal setting for fun outings, in search of the hidden treasures of the mountain, on the tracks of owls, titmice, roe deer, chamois and eagles that inhabit the valleys. Whether you like paragliding, ice climbing, mushing with sled dogs, sledging or ice skating, you are sure to find something to occupy the afternoons of your holiday in Vallouise. Cross-country skiers ? You are definitely in the right place as Vallouise offers you more than 35 kilometres of Nordic trails, walking through breathtaking landscapes along the valley's torrents.
Summer and winter alike, the Parc National des Ecrins allows its visitors to practice many sports, from simple initiation to high-level practice, thanks to the great diversity of its landscapes. It is also the second mountaineering site in France, and the meeting place for many sports races. Renowned as a climber's paradise, mountaineering and via ferrata sites abound in this park, which is also home to many bodies of water, lakes and rivers, where you can practise many water sports, from kayaking to rafting, including whitewater swimming and canyoning. Once the snow has melted, a "Bike Park" as well as numerous areas for mountain biking through the green valleys, for excursions to the open air.
