Located on the famous Way of Santiago de Compostela, the municipality of Lit-et-Mixe has a very (very!) large number of hiking routes; whether you are a novice in this field or a seasoned walker, you will necessarily find your happiness there. In the heart of the pine forest, by the ocean, via the magnificent Pigeon plain classified as a Natura 2000 area, there are many itineraries! In all, more than 60 kilometres of marked routes await you in Lit-et-Mixe and Cap de l'Homy. We particularly recommend the Cape Town circuit, for 11.2 kilometres of walking between maritime pines and coastal dunes, with incomparable views! If you prefer cycling, the Vélodyssée (on the coastal path) or the Vignac trail (inland) will allow you to discover everything from the surroundings of the Lit-et-Mixe.
The other reason we're coming to Lit-et-Mixe? Its beach, oh how beautiful. Spread over more than 10 kilometres along the ocean, Cap de l'Homy beach is one of the most unspoilt beaches on the entire Landes coast. Supervised during the summer period, it is a real little paradise of nature very appreciated by water sports enthusiasts, and more particularly by surfers who come in large numbers to try to tame its capricious waves. In addition to surfing, you can also go bodyboarding, sea kayaking or paddle. For an unforgettable stroll, nothing beats walking along the sand to the north, to admire the famous Contis Lighthouse painted white and black, magnificent at sunset when the sky is tinged with pink and orange.

Namely: in the village there is a brewery (BNL) which offers to visit the distillery and especially to buy some rather nice beers. Léon's pond allows you to spend a cool day with a canoe trip and picnic under the trees.

Don't miss "L'Estanquet", a great restaurant 5 minutes away. The beach at Cap de l'Homy is very pleasant, not too crowded as in Mimizan.
