The commune of Tamerville is located in the Manche department. A quiet village on the Cotentin peninsula, a little away from the coastline which is a dozen kilometres away, Tamerville is quiet Normandy as we like it. If you are happy to put down your suitcases here, it is above all for its calm and its picturesque side. Just like the region, Tamerville has a charming heritage, which we invite you to discover on foot, on horseback or by bike, depending on your wishes. In the list of monuments to see, the castle of Chiffrevast has a place of choice: built in 1618 in place of an ancient fortress, this magnificent castle recognizable by its stone bridge and its mullioned windows is surrounded by a vast English park bucolic as desired. The Romanesque church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, in the heart of the village, is also worth a visit. Easily identifiable thanks to its high bell tower, this Romanesque building of the 12th century is classified in the inventory of Historic Monuments thanks to the beauty of its decorations, its sculptures and its monumental paintings. The town hall housed in a former presbytery, but also the many manors that have flourished on the town over the centuries as that of Saint-Yverie (16th century) and Manoir de Belaunay (16th and 17th centuries) will complete your discovery of the heritage of Tamerville.

On foot or by bike, it will be easy to reach some of the most beautiful sites of the Cotentin Peninsula, such as the Town of Art and History which is Valognes, Tamerville's neighbour. Its parks and gardens, its listed religious buildings and its many private mansions make it a choice stopover during your stay in Normandy. But, what unconditionally makes the heart of the holidaymakers here capsize is the sea. In Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue, the range of possible activities is vast: from fishing to the discovery of the island of Tatihou fortified by Vauban, not forgetting its towers listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Saint-Marcouf islands off the coast, its superb marina and its hiking routes, the whole family will find something to marvel at here. Our advice? Take the time to walk along the GR223 along the coast to the Pointe de Barfleur, to contemplate some of the most beautiful panoramas that the Cotentin has to offer. Take time for a gourmet break in one of the restaurants overlooking the sea to enjoy oysters, fresh fish, Tatihou lamb dishes, Norman biscuits, flaky buns and other specialties of the Val de Saire that will delight the whole family. Finally, for swimming, head for the Plage de la Hougue or the Petite Plage: perfect for a dip as well as for lazing around and sailing, kayaking and paddle sessions, these long sunny beaches will undoubtedly be the icing on the cake of these beautiful holidays in Normandy.
