The birthplace of Josephine de Beauharnais, Napoleon I's first wife, Les Trois-Îlets faces the bay of Fort-de-France, in Martinique. A charming village and seaside resort at the forefront of modernity, it has all the necessary information to make your holiday in the heart of the Caribbean Sea unforgettable.
Named after the three small islands just opposite its coast, the commune of Trois-Îlets is one of the largest tourist centres in Martinique. It is divided into three distinct districts: the village, Anse à l'Âne, and Pointe du Bout and Anse Mitan. The village will surprise you with its picturesque and charming side: made of small coloured Creole huts with red tiled roofs, it houses many museums that we recommend you visit. The Pagerie Museum and its splendid estate dedicated to the memory of Empress Josephine, the Cane House (in an old distillery), the Coffee and Cocoa Museum, but also the "Savannah of Slaves" (a site dedicated to Martiniquan traditions as well as the history of slavery), or the Pottery Village are essential. The latter, with its brickworks in operation since the 18th century, is a magnificent showcase of local know-how (the manufacture of tiles and bricks), where you will find many souvenir shops to extend your holidays a little bit once you get home.
L'Anse à l'Âne is better known for its wonderful white sandy beach. With its postcard decorations, its good little Creole restaurants facing the sea, its walking trails and its turquoise water, it is one of the most beautiful sites in the Trois-Îlets. Finally, Pointe du Bout and Anse Mitan concentrate almost all of the seaside activities of the Trois-Îlets. Fine sandy beaches, warm, crystal clear water, shopping lanes, bars, restaurants, hotels, yacht clubs, clubs and nightclubs... You will find absolutely everything you need for your holiday.
In Trois-Îlets, you can enjoy a wide range of sporting activities to suit your desires, both on land and in the air, for thrill seekers. 18-hole golf course by the sea, karting, tree climbing in Mangofil, hiking in the Vatable national forest or via the Healthy Hope course, horseback riding, mountain biking or quad biking, helicopter excursions over the Trois-Îlets and Martinique... But it is at sea that you can enjoy the widest range of activities..: windsurfing, sailing, catamaran, kitesurfing, bodyboard, paddle, jet-ski, surfing, scuba diving to explore the richness of the resort's seabed, trips to the sea towards the Génipa mangrove and islets, swimming: everything to satisfy sliding enthusiasts and holidaymakers looking for a quieter stay. Finally, on the beaches side, for long breaks of idleness under the island sun, you will be spoilt for choice, provided, of course, that you like the paradisiacal beaches. The very lively Anse Mitan, the beach of Bakoua and its small straw umbrellas, the beach of Anse à l'Âne, or the beach of Le Méridien and its breathtaking sunsets on Fort-de-France just opposite will allow you to bubble in the tropics in a dream setting.

I came to Martinique for a professional training in the health field. I had my classes from my arrival until Friday evening. Mr. Prefect of Martinique spoke on Thursday afternoon and from Saturday evening we were confined in the same conditions as in Metropolitan France (10 km around, for imperative needs and curfew at 7pm). As a result, restaurants, shops and places to visit were closed: I couldn't do or see anything during my stay. I just enjoyed the pool and the beaches around.
