Crach, or Crac'h in Breton, is a small town in the department of Morbihan, in the Brittany region. Bordered by the river Auray, between Auray, Locmariaquer and Carnac, this charming destination has something to seduce many visitors. City "Douar ha Mor", which means "between land and sea" in Breton, Crac'h is above all an agricultural and fertile land, dotted with a myriad of walking trails that will allow you to discover all the most beautiful faces. In the heart of the village, you will discover numerous chapels, but also calvaries and fountains (such as those of Saint-Thuriau and Plas-Kaër), current witnesses of this legendary Breton faith which has been vibrating the region for centuries now. The parish church is worth seeing, as is the beautiful Plas-Kaër chapel, the small Saint-Aubin chapel in Kervin-Brigitte, recognizable by its old stones and its colourful door, not forgetting those of Rosnarho and Saint-Jean. But what really makes you feel in the heart of historic Brittany are its megaliths: and there are many of them in the area! Situated in the heart of one of the most majestic megalithic complexes in the world, between Carnac and Locmariaquer, Crac'h has more than twenty sites to discover, including the covered walkway of Beudrec, the covered walkway of Luffang, the dolmen of Coët Kerzuc in the heart of the Parc Muller, not forgetting the alignments along the river of Crac'h, or the submerged menhirs of the Bay of Saint-Jean. Crac'h, they are also bridges: overhanging the Auray and the Crac'h, they are to be added to your "to-do list" of holidays. The Roman Aqueduct over the Auray, but also the Roman Bridge, the Moulin à mer or the Pont des 3 Cantons will be immortalized during your stay. And to make sure you don't miss anything, several walking and cycling routes have been laid out to facilitate your discoveries in Crac'h, such as the "Circuit de la Baie Saint-Jean", the "Circuit des mégalithes", the "Plas Kaër" path, the "Douar Ha Mor" cycling loop (14.5 kilometres), and the "Circuit des deux rivières" (19 kilometres).
Crac'h is also the sea: with 17 kilometres of coastline, spread along the Auray river to the east and the Crac'h river to the west, Crac'h definitely lives to the rhythm of the water. During your excursions, you will be able to discover many oyster farms, which in the region have the reputation of producing excellent oysters, which you will be able to taste in one of the many small restaurants in the town. After a gourmet break, take the time to climb up to the Spanish Fort of Crac'h: a vestige of the Romans and the Venetians, this strategic fortified observation post will offer you from its high palisaded walls breathtaking views of the Gulf of Morbihan, reputed to be one of the most beautiful places in the whole of Brittany. Finally to swim, head for the beaches of Locmariaquer, Carnac, La Trinité-sur-Mer or Quiberon (famous for its Côte Sauvage): there, in the waters of the Bay of Quiberon, you can swim, surf, sail, stand-up paddle, kitesurf, scuba dive, or opt for a sea ride that is sure to put glitter in the eyes of young and old alike.
