With its 5 km coastline and 6 beaches, Bidart offers many ways to enjoy the ocean. Start with a moment of idleness on the warm sand and enjoy the magnificent view of the ocean and, to your left, the Pyrenees range. Then put on your surf suit, take lessons or go straight to the mythical waves of this part of the Basque coast. To vary the pleasures, make a little paddle or bodysurf or offer yourself a game of petanque or beach volleyball on the beach of the center. At low tide, bring landing nets and discover, with your children, the joys of fishing on foot.
An ancient whaling village, Bidart has kept all its authenticity. By following the heritage trail (topo guide at the Tourist Office), you will discover all the architectural richness of the resort. In the central square, enjoy the beautiful building of the Town Hall, in the Labourdin style, the essential pelota pelota pediment and the beautiful fortified bell tower church, built towards the end of the 16th century. Continue your walk by going to admire the numerous chapels of the village, in particular that of Sainte-Madeleine, dear to the pilgrims of Compostelle, and that of Ur-Onea, formerly famous for its source which cured, according to legend, the skin diseases.
Then discover the unique natural setting of Bidart and its surroundings. Following the coastal path that winds its way to San Sebastian in Spain, you can enjoy the beauty of the Basque ledge between cliffs, wild coves and views of the Pyrenees. Take a break in Guéthary, another authentic Basque village, then continue to Saint-Jean-de-Luz to enjoy its pretty port, its beautiful residences and its magnificent botanical garden. Take a stroll north of Bidart to admire the castle of Ilbarritz or to tease the ball on the golf course of the same name. Back in Bidart, sit on the terrace of a good restaurant to taste the local specialities : pintxos, Bayonne ham, piperade, axoa, ossau-iraty, Basque cake...

bidart is a very pretty village with ballades on the littoral with a splendid sight on the sea to make also the train of the rhune to 25km ;;; biarritz ;;; st jean de luz which are very close ;;; very beautiful area of an admirable beauty

Feel Good" pizzeria: excellent pizza and excellent service. The boss (despite a staff problem) was able to remain friendly, courteous and attentive. La Licorne's bakery: very good Basque cakes.
