The first stopover for a historical visit of the city is the Gate of Spain. The current vestige of what was once one of the gates of the medieval ramparts, it houses in its tower (Place Pablo Picasso) an archaeological museum, the "Maison du Patrimoine Françoise Claustre": dating from prehistory to the Middle Ages, its precious collections are the result of excavations carried out in Céret and Vallespir. Another essential visit is the Museum of Modern Art in Céret: located on boulevard du Maréchal Joffre, it will allow you to discover in no time the artistic history of the town which, for years, has attracted famous artists such as Chagall, Soutine, Picasso, Braque, Dufy or Matisse, who have walked the cobblestones of Céret and its region in search of inspiration.

In the heart of the Tech Valley, Céret is watered by the river of the same name, which defines its contours to the north of the city.
