Who has never heard of the Costa Blanca ? This 200-kilometer-long Valencian coastline is a flagship destination for seaside tourism. Historically, many civilizations have benefited from its mild climate and its ideal geographical location for trade. Between beaches and cliffs, its wild nature has not been tamed over the centuries and conceals many mysteries to be discovered in its many natural spaces.
Renowned for its golf clubs, the majestic Alicante also proudly displays its historic past on both sides of the city. The imposing Santa Bárbara Castle overlooks the old town, overlooking the harbor and the seaside of Alicante. The small streets of the ancient fortified city will lead you to architectural treasures such as the Basilica of Santa María, built in the 13th century on a mosque. Mainly Gothic, its façade was rebuilt in a baroque style following a fire in the 15th century. It is not by chance that so many peoples have chosen to settle in Alicante over the centuries. This vast port city has taken advantage of its geographical position to develop maritime trade. Today, the port of Alicante is also a marina where it is good to live. We drink a glass among friends on the terraces of its cafes or enjoy a tapas bar without ever missing the magnificent sunset which is reflected every night on the clear waters of the Mediterranean.
Then come to Benidorm, a modern metropolis where endless skyscrapers rise. It is however the charm of its beaches and its historical center that attract the holidaymakers. The city is also a starting point for many of the province's must-see sites. Among them : the natural park of Serra Gelada that will melt lovers of the great outdoors. Ideal for hiking, the deep calm that reigns on this place allows everyone to recharge. Enthusiasts will be more attracted to Terra Mítica, a vast amusement park that will take you around the world. Egypt, Ancient Greece, Roman Empire, Iberian Peninsula and islands, here are some of the destinations to discover through captivating attractions and shows that will delight young and old !
Then head towards Calpe ! This charming town nestled at the foot of Mount Toix is a great success thanks to the Penyal d'Ifac, this superb rock rising more than 300 meters above the sea. This wonderful nature reserve is accessible from an interior tunnel but be careful : to avoid if you have dizziness ! At the highest point, you have access to a breathtaking view of the bay and surrounding terrain.
