A modern and attractive seaside resort, Sant Antoni de Calonge is located in the heart of the Costa Brava, only 1h20 from Barcelona. Sant Antoni de Calonge is an ideal holiday destination to spend a few days with the family and offers a wide range of activities, sometimes fun, sometimes sporting, suitable for children and parents.
Nestled between Platja d'Aro and Palamos, the beaches of Sant Antoni (coastal area of the medieval village of Calonge) with turquoise waters and golden sand invite to calm and relaxation. Typical of the beaches of the Costa Brava, the beach of Sant Antoni runs alongside the "Passieg Josep Mundet". If its architecture (a little too much) modern is not its major asset, you can count on its generous sunshine and fine sand. Labelled "Family Tourism", it has a multitude of activities during the summer period. You will find a children's club, a beach volleyball court, pedal boats, a carnival, chiringuitos where you can eat facing the sea and large palm trees along its promenade. After the river Calonge, southwest of Sant Antoni, you will find the beach of Torre Valentina. Modern, it is the favourite beach for water sports fans who come to windsurf, surf, kayak, paddle, sailboat or motor boat. The round path linking Sant Antoni to Platja d'Aro is full of small coves : walk along the "Ronda de Cami" to admire incredible views of the coast and discover magnificent hidden and wild coves. They are sometimes rocky, sometimes lined with pines, and all have the particularity of being true small paradises of tranquility, contrasting with the crowded beaches of the big tourist seaside resorts. The ideal is to walk early in the morning, to fully enjoy the quietness of the paths and the beauty of the places. At sunrise, the light sets the bay ablaze and offers the early risers a sumptuous spectacle, to be absolutely immortalized. The "Cala Cristus", divided into two small deep coves and surrounded by maritime pines, is ideal for relaxation in the shade of vegetation. For one afternoon, rest on the sand of the "Cala de Planes Ronques", which is certainly one of the most beautiful coves of Sant Antoni, with its smooth rocks and its bright blue water.
From the beaches, it only takes a few minutes walk to reach the medieval city of Calonge. Admire its old houses, its Calcùl street, its vineyards and cellars as well as its church Sant Marti and its medieval castle. Its fortress built in the eighth century is one of the largest in the province of Girona, and deserves a look : linger in the gardens of the castle, and along its medieval ramparts for a little freshness. Dynamic, Sant Antoni de Calonge has set up a programme called "Estia Actiu" (active summer) : gymnastics and open-air cinema sessions, sand castle competitions and fun walks are organised throughout the summer, allowing visitors to discover all the secrets of the city and its coastline. Many festivals are organized throughout the year, such as the wine festival, the festival of the patron saints of the city, and a medieval market, very popular in the region.
Finally, true local religion : the gambas will be at the rendezvous of your meals in Sant Antoni de Calonge! They can be enjoyed raw or grilled à la plancha, accompanied by a dash of olive oil, in the comfort of a restaurant or on the Mediterranean coast, facing the setting sun.

The Place de la Liberté where the Church is located is a lively place with its family activities. The Mundet space is symbolic because it pays tribute to the man who restructured the city after the war.
