In the province of Malaga, Andalusia, Torrox is one of those destinations that are (almost) no longer presented. Divided into two distinct parts, Torrox Costa (the seaside resort) and Torrox Pueblo (the village), Torrox enjoys a mild climate in both winter and summer, attracting many holidaymakers every year. Torrox has a very strong historical heritage, and it is easy to visit the town on foot, taking the time to admire (and enjoy) all its splendours. To begin with, take the time to stroll through its town centre: made up of narrow streets, dotted with whitewashed houses absolutely em-blé-ma-tic of Andalusia, the town of Torrox is a perpetual invitation to marvel. Its balconies filled with brightly coloured flowers contrast poetically with the immaculate white of its walls. From flower-filled streets to tree-lined squares, the Plaza de la Constitución, where the 17th-century church of Nuestra Senora de la Encarnación stands proudly. After visiting the church to see the splendour of its interior decorations, you will head to the seafront to see the archaeological remains of the Roman era near the Torrox-Costa lighthouse, as well as the 15th century watchtowers that once protected the city from barbarian invasions.
Do you like hiking? Then Torrox is the destination for you. The town is situated on a vast network of paths suitable for all levels of walkers, perfect for both passionate hikers and families looking for short (sometimes sporty) strolls. The nearby Nerja Caves are a good idea for an outing: located about 15 kilometres from Torrox, these two limestone caves have been fascinating visitors for decades. Rock paintings dating from the Palaeolithic period and age-old concretions will be part of this visit.
Coming on holiday in Torrox also means you can be sure to enjoy wonderfully sunny days on its dream beaches. Here, fine sand coasts the turquoise sea, to offer you magnificent postcard landscapes, to make all your followers on Instagram jealous. If the water is so clear, it allows scuba diving enthusiasts to observe small fish and aquatic flora in total tranquility, with the key to beautiful moments immersed and incredible discoveries, for adults and children alike. Those who love water activities can go sailing, but also surfing, water skiing, jet-skiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing... In short, a busy programme that will satisfy the whole family.
