Location
A stone vessel on the mouth of the Rance River, Saint-Malo proudly rises its ramparts above its beaches and harbor. The facades and towers emerging from the fortifications give the town its unique silhouette. To approach the city of Saint-Malo, take the "chemin de ronde", a walkway that offers breathtaking views! Accessible on foot at low tide, the Petit Bé fort and the Fort National are in exceptional locations. These islets offer an unforgettable 360° view. On Grand Bé, you can pay a posthumous visit to the famous Saint Malo writer Chateaubriand. Other defensive features to appreciate outside the walls and on land are the fort of the cité d'Alet and the Tour Solidor. Saint-Servan is also the starting point for a beautiful walk along the Rance river and through the walled town.
