Travelers in search of authenticity, welcome to this atypical and unusual home in the heart of nature! This house is respectful of nature, eco-responsible and committed to strong environmental values. Located in southern Aveyron, in the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses, at the foot of the Larzac plateau, Maison de Vignes nestles in the heart of the Brias cirque at Tournemire. The site is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Natura 2000! This small communal house was entrusted to the good care of our association in 2016 to give it a second lease of life. With the help of a great team of volunteers and some hard-working people, we transformed it into an atypical reception area overlooking the valley and the village below.

Here, everything is conducive to letting go and disconnecting: the river flows gently below (cool - 12 degrees on average). The hazelnut trees provide shade, and the fruit trees are perfect for an invigorating siesta. A table and some pallet furniture allow you to picnic and enjoy the campfire as the sun sets. And at night? Surrounded by the Tournemire cirque, the Maison de Vignes offers an incredible spectacle of the stars, without any light pollution. You'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. And yet it's not! You'll find a grocery store, bakery and even a restaurant in the village (Tournemire) 800 m from the Maison de Vignes. Lovers of hiking and wide-open spaces will be delighted by the many footpaths and footpaths that criss-cross the cirque and plateau of Larzac. All year round, the scenery offers a whole host of new surprises. Whether you're with friends, family or loved ones, come and take a breath of fresh air at the Maison de Vignes de Tournemire.

The living room and kitchen: On the first floor, near the window, a small fireplace revives even the coolest evenings, and a wood-burning stove ensures a warm welcome. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, oven, gas stove and cooking utensils, enough to prepare excellent dishes to enjoy with friends on the large dining table! Dormitory cabins: to access the sleeping area, you have to go outside! Above the "kitchen" area, you'll find the mezzanine with a cosy area that can also be used as an extra bed, a shower room cabin with shower and washbasin, and the two dormitory cabins fitted out with bunk beds.
Sanitary facilities:
- In winter, the indoor shower cubicle lets you take a quick shower.
- In summer, an outdoor shower area lets you wash up using your solar shower bag, while looking out over the landscape and its breathtaking view of the cliffs! Tadao Ando used to say that this is one of the most beautiful ways to feel you exist.
- The dry toilets are located in a shed against the house. You'll have to step out for a second to access it - we like the fresh air at night ;-) Toilet, sink, everything! What are dry toilets? An ecological toilet system that doesn't waste water or pollute sensitive natural areas. They look just like conventional toilets, except that your needs land directly in a large bucket. To avoid unpleasant odours, sawdust is required as a cover. All you have to do is put a little on and you're done! Once the bucket is full, you'll need to empty it. Mother Nature will turn it into compost. In the same way, your pets are welcome, but you must respect the area and clean up after them!

Please note that cleaning is a must. The cost of cleaning is a set-up fee, but the site must be left clean when you leave.
You can ask us to rent comforters and sheets for 5 Euros per person per stay.
