Welcome to this troglodyte gîte near Doué La Fontaine!
An exceptional place that will delight the curious, little adventurers and lovers of fine materials.
[COMPOSITION DU GITE]
135m² first floor: living room with large corner sofa, TV, pool table, dining room with large dining table, fully-equipped kitchen, master suite with 160x200cm double bed, open-plan shower and vanity unit, TV. Separate toilet. Large bathroom with chromatherapy whirlpool bath, shower, large vanity unit and heated towel rail.
Upstairs: mezzanine play area, second mezzanine overlooking the living room (sofa bed convertible into 2 beds 90x190cm on request), bedroom with 2 beds 90x190cm (or 180x190cm on request) overlooking the kitchen. Troglodytes are unusual dwellings. The walls and ceilings are made of natural rock and lime plaster.... and are by definition irregular! At their lowest, the ceilings of the mezzanines are 1.50m and the height of the upstairs doors is 1.50m.
Outside, admire the distinctive tufa slope. The garden, planted with trees and equipped with garden furniture, sun loungers, parasols and a barbecue, offers a soothing setting. A small tuffeau cave is freely accessible for you to admire the rock in its natural state... or to store your bikes!
[TO DO NEARBY] : The gite is located between Angers and Saumur, an ideal base for visiting Anjou! Saumur is 10 minutes away, with its château, Cadre Noir, Musée des Blindés, Loire River and Saumur wine cellars. Doué-La-Fontaine is also 10 min away, with its Bioparc, rose city with many specialties based on this flower, and troglodyte sites: Troglo et Sarcophages, Le Mystère des Faluns, the troglodyte village of Louresse-Rochemenier. Also worth seeing: the impressive Château de Brézé 10 minutes away, the Château de Montreuil-Bellay 15 minutes away, and the famous Abbaye de Fontevraud 25 minutes away. You'll be 50 minutes from Angers or Chinon, and 1 hour from Tours and Cholet.
You'll also be able to enjoy the local produce: wines, fouées, galipettes, pommes tapées, Gouline... In Doué-La-Fontaine, .
