Presentation
Domaine de l'Arnel is located at the entrance to Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, on the D185 between Sète and Palavas les Flots, 10 km south of Montpellier.
The site's privileged geographical location is adjacent to the Etang de l'Arnel. The wild, unspoilt nature of the surrounding area lends it a magical dimension. The flora and fauna are extremely diverse.
When you enter the Domaine, you feel like you're in a haven of peace. The campsite is quiet.
The richness of the site is linked to its vegetation. It's well treed and shaded, and the vegetation protects you from the sun in summer. There are large trees such as palms, plane trees, pines and tamarisk. Each pitch is bordered by this vegetation. The campsite also features a playground and bowling green, accessible to all residents during opening hours.
In the commune of Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, you'll find everything you need (shops and supermarkets) for shopping and basic necessities.
From the campsite, a path takes you to the beaches of Villeneuve, by bike in 15 minutes or on foot in 30 minutes. At the Pilou parking lot, the little train will be waiting to take you to the seaside or to Maguelone cathedral. It also takes you to Palavas via the beaches.

For your leisure activities outside Domaine de l'Arnel, the region has many activities to offer and a large number of picturesque sites to visit, some of which are listed below:
Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, located south-west of Montpellier, boasts a 9-kilometre stretch of unspoilt, undeveloped beach. Access is via a footbridge spanning the Canal du Rhône à Sète. You can walk or cycle to the beach. By small train (May to September) from the Palavas or Villeneuve-les-Maguelone parking lots.
In a green setting at the heart of the Presqu'île, the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre de Maguelone is a unique place where history and tradition meet. This fortress church, a former Romanesque bishopric, is surrounded by vineyards. Between fresh and salt water, where many remarkable species, particularly birds, come to breed or feed: Pink Flamingo, Little Egret, Shelduck, Elegant Avocet, White Stilt, Tern...
