High on the hillside with panoramic views over Lake Maggiore and the Borromean Islands, this romantic apartment is a peaceful retreat from which to explore the Italian lakes. A sunny and airy apartment with a large terrace, it is just 15 minutes from the lakeshore and 5 minutes from the charming town of Stresa.
On the second floor of an attractive modern residence, the apartment sleeps 5 people in comfort. Since the building is set on a hill, the entrance is down a flight of stone steps. The front door opens directly onto a light-filled, open-plan living area. This is furnished with a sofa, a flat-screen TV and a dining area. Large sliding glass doors lead out to the partly shaded terrace with a table and chairs for relaxed meals al fresco, looking towards the lake and the mountains beyond. There are also two sun loungers and a BBQ. Back indoors, the kitchen is separated from the living area by a convenient breakfast bar. The kitchen is well-equipped with an induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and coffee machine.

Bedroom: The spacious Master bedroom, has a double bed, a single bed and a wardrobe plus drawers and an armchair.
Extra: The sofa in the living room converts into a double bed.

Location
The apartment is in the village of Someraro, which is quieter and less crowded than the lakeside towns. There are two good café/restaurants in the village, one of these doubles as a small shop during the summer season. The village is surrounded by forest and offers some wonderful hiking through the trees with spectacular lake views.
Nearby Stresa is best known for its grand art deco villas and elegant hotels. Its lakefront promenade gives visitors the perfect location for admiring both the lake and the town. Stresa hosts many international cultural festivals including cinema and music throughout the year.
The Borromean Islands make a wonderful day out. Visitors can discover beautiful villas, gardens and churches. There are regular ferries to the islands from Stresa.
For self-catering, Stresa’s market (Friday mornings) is a treasure trove for the best local produce. Otherwise, there are many excellent grocery shops and supermarkets close by.
Milan’s international Malpensa Airport is a 40-minute drive.
