You'll particularly appreciate the peace and quiet, and the proximity to the sea of the Baie de Cousse, a pebble beach just 200 m away on foot. A little less crowded than the neighboring beaches, you'll find peace and quiet here.
If you prefer more lively beaches, you'll have a wide choice with the following beaches, each with its own particularity:
- La Gorguette beach, 4 minutes away by car;
- Portissol beach, 5 minutes away;
- Lido beach, 5 minutes away
- Rayolet beach, 15 minutes away.

Location
San Nari is the Provençal name of Saint Nazaire, a Roman martyr from the Iᵉʳ century AD, to whom a place of worship was dedicated in the Middle Ages on the territory of present-day Sanary. A hamlet on the Mediterranean coast, sheltered by the seigniorial tower erected around 1300, Saint-Nazaire took off in the 16th century.
The port of Sanary is recognized as one of the most typical and authentic on the French Mediterranean coast. A very old natural harbor, located in the heart of the town, it boasts some one hundred heritage boats, the oldest dating back to 1895, including the famous Provencal "pointus".
A village turned towards the sea, Sanary was also home to some of the greatest names in German culture: Thomas Mann, Heinrich Mann, Klaus Mann, Erika Mann, Lion Feuchtwanger, Arnold Zweig, Franz Hessel... all lived in Sanary-sur-Mer between 1933 and 1942.
The esplanade de la mer, the lighthouses, the piers... all offer picturesque views of the port and the village.
You'll also love its large night market every evening in July and August.
