Location
Located on the left bank of the Têt river, 4 km from Perpignan, Bompas currently has a population of around 7,300. Despite strong demographic expansion from the 1970s onwards, the village has managed to maintain a particularly pleasant living environment. Bompas has succeeded in reconciling efficient urban planning, modern amenities and the preservation of a rich natural environment. The commune currently boasts 20,000 m² of lawns, 3,000 metres of hedges and 3,200 trees. In addition, there are 35,000 m² of stadiums and playgrounds, which function as green spaces throughout the town. Other areas are currently under study or construction, including a new 3-hectare leisure park. But the heart of the town is its exceptional Parc des Sports et des Loisirs. This 8-hectare green lung contains several sports fields, a festivities area, picnic areas, children's playgrounds and even an animal park (l'espace enchanté).
