Simple camping in the heart of nature. Ideal for families and/or nature lovers, the Pra de Mars campsite is located along the Loire: a unique vantage point overlooking Europe's last wild river. Here, you can swim in the Loire, take a dip in the pool, enjoy the two children's play areas, trampoline, ping pong, tennis, mini golf, sauna or simply let yourself be lulled by the sound of the river as you admire the landscape...
Also worth noting: on-site bar-restaurant (home cooking) and bread and pastries baked on site.
Nearby: numerous walks and bike rides in unspoilt countryside off the beaten track.
Presentation
The campsite offers spacious pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, as well as mobile-home rentals (not overlooked). A total of one hundred pitches in an enchanting setting on nearly six hectares of land. A unique view of the Loire Gorges. For everyone's comfort, the swimming pool and sauna are reserved for campsite residents.
Services, leisure activities and entertainment
The on-site bar-restaurant, housed in an authentic Vellave farmhouse, is open to all and welcomes you every day. To help you discover the region, all the tourist information you need is at your disposal.
Every morning, bread and Viennese pastries are baked and sold on the premises.ln the bar, Wi fi access is free, and a computer is also available. We lend and exchange books and magazines. Access to tennis and mini-golf is FREE for all campers!
Children can also have fun on the two playgrounds and the trampoline.
Description of the region
Ten thousand leagues away from mass tourism and little known to the general public, the Gorges de la Loire nevertheless boast an important geological, cultural, religious and historical heritage:
- An essential pilgrimage site, Le Puy en Velay is one of the starting points on the long route to Santiago de Compostela.
- The medieval era saw the construction of numerous castles and strongholds, which were destroyed in successive wars. Today, many ruins of medieval castles and villages can be visited. More recent castles and fortresses also bear witness to the region's rich past.
- Music festivals, theater and traditional feasts punctuate the summer calendar.
