A charming and characteristic farm house (200 sq. M), which has been created from the careful restoration with bio-architecture technicians and is situated on the hill in front of the small town of Sovicille. It is in a ideal position: on one hand it lies idyllic on his on hill; at the other hand it takes 5 minutes by feet to reach the village with all kinds of shops. The distance to Siena's historic town centre is only 12 km. There is approx 7,000 m² of grounds with equipped outdoor areas. The ground floor is equipped with an living room (satellite Tv), 1 double bedroom with an extra armchair bed, 2 twin bedrooms, 1 bathroom with hip bath, 1 bathroom with shower. The 1st floor has a big kitchen/dining room (dishwasher), 1 double bedroom, 1 bedroom with bed for 1 1/2 places (120 cm large), , 1 single bedroom, 1 bathroom with bath (washing machine) and 1 bathroom with shower. (all together: 6 bedrooms=persons; 4 bathrooms). The house is very comfortable.
The pool was always used by very satisfied guests. It is 9.20 m long and 4.60 m wide and contains 50 m3 of water. The water depth is 1.32 m (the maximum limit for the Italian standards for pools without pool attendent), but on the other hand it also allows some swimming. Children and adults feel well.
The historical center of Sovicille in front of our hill (5 min. by feet) has all kinds of shops. To Siena it takes 10 minutes by car. The area has 34 castles, churches, ecc. and is ideal for trekking.
You will be the only guests and will have house, ground and pool for You alone. No other guests.
Sovicille is situated 10 km from Siena (10 minutes drive) at the bottom of the beautiful «Montagnola Senese», which is an hilly aerea and wild-live reserve with holm-oaks, chestnut-trees and many species of protected animals. So You may see on our green rare birds ,sometimes deers or an porcupine. In the woods you will find signed path to discover the amazing aerea, and you can choose if you want to go by foot, on horseback or on moutainbike: you will be able to admire isolated churches or castels, very small villages or great farmhouses, marvellous wide views. You will find Maps in our house ; bycicle-rent is in the next village (rosia) ; and horses to rent are 5 minutes drive.
The aerea of Siena is generally well known for the medieval castels, churches, villages, but you will also find traces of Etruscans. Only in the territory of Sovicille you will find more than 30 medieval castels, churches ecc. And then there is naturally Siena itself. You may reach the center-parking in 12 minutes by car, but You can also take the public bus to Siena. Other famous towns are nearby (30-60 minutes drive: San Gimignano, Volterra, Asciano, Pienza, Buonconvento, Montalcino, Montepulciano). You should also visit the Chianti and the Crete Senesi with the dreamy Cloister of Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Bookguides of history and art will You find in our house.
Restaurants to taste the typical Tuscany -meals are nearby, in Sovicille, in the small villages around and obviously in Siena. A very good wineyard is 4 minutes by car (street to Ancaiano). In Siena at the « Fortezza Medicea » You will find the « Enoteca italiana » whichrepresents generally Italian Wines in the whole world: a national center for excellent wines from Tuscany and whole Italy.
The region
Tuscany is well known for the beauty of the cities, of the villages and the landscape. Intact medieval centers, amazing works of arts, landscapes of rapt beauty. Medieval times are still alive in forms like the «Palio of Siena» ( The most lovely landscapes you will see around Siena: the wellknown Chianti, but also the « Crete Senesi » or, at last but not least, the « Montagnola Senese » where is located Sovicille. However, you may reach all these gorgeous landscapes in 30 minutes by car. Moreover, it is easily possible to go by foot to the « Montagnola Senese » And than the Tuscany food and wine. In the shops You will find all ingredients for Tuscany-food ; in the restaurants You will find all tipical meals of Tuscany, from « acqua cotta » to the « bistecca fiorentina », from « malfatti toscani » to the « tuscanian wild pig ». And the wine of Tuscany is famous and excellent : not only « Brunello di Montalcino » (1 h by Car), but also « Nobile di Montepulcano (1h by Car), « Chianti classico docg » (next wineyard ca. 30 minutes by car) or « Vernaccia di San Gimignano » (30 minutes by car). You will also find an excellent Chianti wine in 5 minutes by car from our house.
From Sovicille to Siena it takes aprox. 10 minutes to the periphery (supermarkets, shopping centers), andminutes to the historical center. From Siena You have highway connections to reach inminutes many important places of central Italy: Florence, Pisa, Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto. To San Gimignano it takes 30 min., to Volterra, Monalcino (brunello-wine) or Montepulcano (Nobile of Montepulciano) 60 min. - The area of the Chianti hills begins on 15 minutes drive. To Rome-center it takes 2 1/2 hours drive.
From Sovicille to Siena You have also a Bus connection, 14 connections a workaday, 4 connections on Sunday. Timetables in the house and on the internet. From Siena You have other Bus and Railway connections.
If You need Covid-testing (aeroplane, passage to another State, ecc.) You may do it in our house.
