At the foot of the ramparts of the medieval town of Sainte Suzanne, classified as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France", this detached house combines a renovated old part with a contemporary timber extension.
It offers comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people.
In the renovated old part, you'll find a fully-equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals, a bright living room with a wood-burning stove for winter evenings, and upstairs, the "Tour Nord" bedroom with 2 beds (90 x 200) and a small desk. Access to this room is via a staircase leading directly into the bedroom (no door).
In the contemporary part, you'll find the "South Tower" bedroom on the garden level, with a 160 x 200 bed and access to the garden, and the "Watchtower" bedroom upstairs, with a 160 x 200 bed, a crib and a play and relaxation area. On the same level as the old part, the contemporary part includes a living room with a view of the Charnie forest, a bathroom and an independent toilet. The gîte is equipped with WIFI and TV.
Outside, there's a terrace on stilts with access to the living room, and another terrace at the bottom of the garden with a dining area and barbecue.
The enclosed grounds will reassure you about the safety of your children.
Bikers and cyclists can park their 2-wheelers in the covered area.
The medieval town of Sainte Suzanne is nicknamed "The Pearl of Maine".
You can discover its history, with the dolmen des Erves, the keep (XI°) which resisted William the Conqueror, the castle (XVII°) built for Fouquet de la Varenne, minister of Henri IV, governor general of the Post Office, the Auditoire museum, the Grand Moulin, the English camp...
Numerous cultural events are offered throughout the year.
Numerous hiking trails around the town allow you to stroll on foot, bike or horseback, discover the Tertre Ganne site or the mill walk.
A little further afield, prehistory awaits you with the Saulges caves (17 km), and Roman times with the Gallo-Roman city of Jublains (23 km).
In Sainte Suzanne, you'll find all the local shops you need (pharmacy, bakery, restaurants...) and much more besides, with art stores. For your babies, all the equipment is available in the gîte: a real cot to current standards, a secure highchair, a changing mat, a deckchair and a bathtub.
You can bring your pet with you, on condition that it does not climb onto the sofas or stay in the bedrooms, and that you pick up its droppings in the garden.
Perfectly insulated construction, using wood fiber and eco-friendly materials. Thermodynamic hot water tank and double-flow ventilation. Electric heating is highly efficient and economical.
Electricity is included in the price for stays of up to 15 days.
For long-term bookings and consumption exceeding the equivalent of €30 per week, consumption will be calculated and paid to the owner in the event of additional costs.
