La Terrazza is a holiday home located in Cetona, Italy, in southern Tuscany, at the intersection of Umbria and Lazio. Marco and Margherita, a middle-aged couple, and their two children are the owners. Fall in love with this property they have been looking for for a long time, after being fascinated by the village and its countryside.
Cetona is considered one of the most beautiful and exclusive villages in Italy (it has been voted as one of the most picturesque Italian villages). Located less than two hours from Rome and Florence, La Terrazza is centrally located for exploring the whole of Tuscany, Umbria and central Italy. Siena, Montepulciano, Pienza, Orvieto, Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo are just some of the most popular cities in the world within a short drive.
Dominated by the homonymous mountain, Cetona is a tiny medieval Tuscan village par excellence with about 3000 inhabitants. It is surrounded by countless picturesque villages, famous spas (San Casciano dei Bagni at 10 km and Bagno Vignoni at 35 km, also accessible in winter), prehistoric sites (the archaeological site of Belverde) and traces of the passage of San Francesco (two wonderful abbeys within walking distance). Its countryside covered with olive trees, vineyards and sunflowers has been the inspiration of artists and travelers who have been enchanted by its colors and flavors. You can taste the excellent local olive oils and the prestigious wines produced in the area, as well as discover the genuine flavors of Tuscan cuisine appreciated all over the world. The house, dating back to the seventeenth century, develops along the ancient walls of the town, still visible today in the exclusive overhanging garden created in a walkway of the walls themselves. From our garden and our terrace you can enjoy a spectacular and priceless view of the Valdichiana, Città della Pieve and the ancient roofs of the village.
The house, entirely in stone and full of ancient charm, re-proposes in its structure the ancient Tuscan houses, with an internal courtyard and an external staircase leading to the first floor (also connected with an internal staircase). It has been recently renovated in perfect and refined Tuscan style and equipped with all modern comforts (wi-fi, independent heating, TV, etc.). The open spaces represent the peculiarity of this house compared to the others located in the ancient village.
The apartment, furnished with elegance and charm, is on three levels. The ground floor, which is accessed from the internal courtyard (for the exclusive use of guests and ideal for your breakfasts, lunches or dinners outdoors) is made up of a living room and a fully equipped kitchen. A large fireplace serves as a place to meet and relax on cold winter days, after a day spent discovering the countless attractions of the town and its surroundings. On the second floor, an elegant bedroom with private bathroom and shower. On the third level there are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds served by a second bathroom with shower. The floors are original and the cellars are made of wood.
A flowery terrace and the enchanting garden (also reachable from a private avenue from a side street), surrounded by olive trees and equipped with every comfort for your relaxation, represent an oasis of peace and tranquility that will make your stay exclusive, suggestive. and unforgettable.
