Description of the region
It is not only the chestnuts, but also by its architecture we know the Ardeche. The small village, next to the campsite, is one of the examples: Chambon de Bavas.
A few minutes away from the campsite is Les Ollières sur Eyrieux. A village with all shops and the tourist office.
The access to discover the south of the Ardèche is via Privas. In the south you will find the Gorges de l'Ardèche with its famous natural bridge 'Le Pont d'Arc'. This region has a wealth of caves.
In the department there are several 'Pont du dialble'. The 'Exemplar' in Thueyts is a wonder. You can make small ballads around the village.
To the west of the department there are the mountains of the Ardèche. The 1551 meter high summit of Le Gerbier-de-Jonc is only a few kilometers away from the village Mézilhac. At the foot of the mountain the Loire River takes its source. The waterfall of Ray-Pic on one of the roads of the mountain.
The tourist railroad in the North of the department in the valley of Doux. A small steam train from Tournon to Lamastre.
