Just 2 km from Monteriggioni Castle lies this delightful little villa, built entirely of stone in the traditional Tuscan style. Close to the Abbadia a Isola abbey, whose origins date back to the year 1000, it lies along the ancient Via Francigena, which pilgrims from all over Europe travelled in the Middle Ages on their way to Rome. Known only to specialists until the 1990s, it is now an itinerary that attracts many history and art-loving tourists. The surrounding countryside is typical of the Sienese region, with its thousand shades of "Sienese earth" color. From the house, there's a suggestive view of the Monteriggioni ramparts, where a medieval atmosphere reigns. There are countless possibilities for excursions, and in addition to Siena, San Gimignano, Volterra and Florence are within easy reach. Nature lovers will find plenty of paths through the woods on the hill opposite. The house is surrounded by a beautiful garden planted with fruit trees and a meadow well-equipped with garden furniture (barbecue), where you'll find the swimming pool (11x5m; depth 1.20m to 2m)(07/05-30/09), illuminated and with external shower.
