The common parts of the residence are in a castle of the XIIIth century, it enjoys the label Qualité Patrimoniale awarded by
the Ministry of Culture
The castle of Casteljau is in the center of a peninsula formed by a meander of the Chassezac which constitutes the "barred spur of
Casteljau". This site has been occupied by man since prehistoric times. The presence of inhabited caves and dolmens in the surrounding area
and dolmens in the surroundings still allow us to realize this. From the twelfth century, was established in this naturally fortified place and
and controlling the communication route of the Chassezac valley, a small castle (castel) was established which has left no trace
