Cignella began its life over 200 years ago as a pig farm.
As agricultural needs changed, it fell into disrepair, remaining in a state of neglect for over a century.
The current owners, seeing its potential, decided to share its wonderful location with those who make Tuscany a favorite destination for their holidays, so the restoration works led to the conversion of the old farm into luxurious lodgings.
The Podere Cignella you see today has been carefully restored, keeping the same imprint of the old farm and the neighboring original one, still active. The roofs, beams and ceilings have been expertly restored using local materials and traditional techniques. The appearance is the same as in past centuries.
