- General description of the campsite:
The Basque Country, what a program!
Surfing, beaches, Bayonne ham, panoramic views from the cliffs, Espelette, the chilli capital, Ainhoa or St-Jean-Pied-de-Port, ranked among the most beautiful villages in France, rafting, hiking in the hinterland, and the list goes on and on... This is a superb region that smells of vacations and fine traditions.
Less than 3 km from the beach and just 4 km from Saint-Jean-de-Luz, 15 minutes from Biarritz, a legendary seaside resort, you can set down your bags at the 4* Suhiberry campsite.
Nestled in a pretty spot of greenery with a panoramic view of the Rhune, this human-scale, almost intimate family campsite honors its values: simplicity, authenticity, quality services, and the charm and traditions of the Basque country in all its forms.
On the menu: pool area, restaurant-snack-bar with a menu of specialities from local producers, local sports (Basque pelota and Sokatira: tug-of-war), not forgetting fishing in the river or a game of pétanque with the neighbors!
The mini-farm and two play areas, one of which is indoors and housed in an adorable Basque doll's cottage, await little adventurers in short pants.
What's more, you'll be staying in brand-new mobile homes equipped with TV, dishwasher and plancha, located in a small, leafy pedestrian area.
As you can see, we say yes! This campsite is close to everything and far from nothing, and guarantees you a no-fuss stay in the local tradition.... So "Ongi Etorri" at Suhiberry!
- Description of your rental:
Mobil-home Select TV LV Plancha - 2 bedrooms - 4 adults + 1 child under 12 years old
Your mobile home is ideally located in a pedestrian-only alley. You park your vehicle in the secure parking lot at the campsite entrance. Carts are available to transport your luggage to and from your pitch on arrival and departure days.
Approx. 24 m² with 7 m² semi-covered wooden terrace and garden furniture.
The pluses: A very recent mobile home with contemporary decor, equipped with TV, dishwasher, plancha and located in a privileged pedestrian-only neighborhood... what more could you ask for!

- Description of the Aquatic Area:
An outdoor swimming pool (16 m x 8 m) heated in July/August, with a gentle slope and different depths (from 1 m to 1.60 m), suitable for all ages and ideal for cooling off after a day of exploring; deckchairs all around invite you to relax.
For the little ones, a paddling pool, heated only by the sun's rays, with an aqualudic play area, awaits them for safe fun. A toy box full of treasures is dedicated to them, so they can make up lots of stories with their little friends!
Pool opening dates and times :
- Open all season from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (until 8 p.m. in July/August).
- Heated in July/August, and possibly in May/June/September, depending on attendance and weather conditions.
NB: Swimming shorts are not permitted. Only bathing suits, boxers and briefs are allowed.
And let's not forget the many beautiful sandy beaches on the nearby ocean coast, where you'll find all kinds of water sports and, of course, this country's flagship activity, surfing!
To each his own:
- If you're a water sports enthusiast, the Fort de Socoa beach awaits you at the foot of the famous fortification, a 20-minute walk from the campsite or a 7-minute bike ride. You can also enjoy scuba diving, jet-skiing and towed buoys in the beautiful bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz!
- Fancy a little idleness? The Grande Plage in the historic center of Saint-Jean-de-Luz is just what you're looking for; a 20-minute bike ride from the campsite via a greenway.
- If you're a surfer, don't forget your equipment and head for Lafitenia beach in Saint-Jean-de-Luz or Grande Plage in Hendaye (15 min by car).
Timetables are indicative and subject to change. Access to the aquatic areas may be subject to restrictions, depending on weather and sanitary conditions, and any maintenance work in progress at the time of your stay.
- Entertainment:
While in low season the atmosphere is more peaceful and tranquil, a team of entertainers offers activities for all ages during the summer school vacations.
Daytime activities include aquagym and yoga classes, sports tournaments, initiation to Pelote Basque, pétanque tournaments, creative workshops for the little ones and inflatable game deployment.
In the evening, let yourself be tempted by the tapas bingo, lively meals, themed evenings, music and dancing with a band or DJ to the rhythm of summer hits. And why not to Basque music?
There's no supervised children's club with fixed dates and times, but during the summer school vacations, the youngest (5 to 12 years) are not left out, with several dedicated activities according to the posted weekly schedule: make-up workshops, painting, decoupage, treasure hunts and even introductions to Basque pelota and other Basque team games such as Sokatira...
In need of some exercise? Here you'll find all the campsite essentials: from the multi-sports pitch (soccer, basketball) to the tennis court, not forgetting the ping-pong tables, the boules pitch, the beach volleyball court and table soccer for friends and family! And that's not all...
Cross the small road in front of the campsite via a safe crosswalk and head for the fronton to try your hand at Basque games and sports: Basque pelota, with the loan of palas (wooden rackets) and balls at the reception, and for those who respect tradition, barehanded! Or challenge yourself to a game of tug-of-war (Soka tira in Basque)? !
Continuing on, a secluded little corner of nature, just the way we like it, with the goat enclosure (whose young farmer-owner sells his cheese 5 minutes from the campsite) and the stream just outside the campsite for your fishing and nature moment (rods on loan from reception).
Juniors will of course find themselves at the playground: swing, sandbox, turnstile, slide or head for the indoor playroom for fun and enjoyment when the weather turns sour. In summer, head for the bouncy castle for even more fun!
If you're in the mood for a bit of pampering, why not take advantage of the wellness area with its terrace offering a breathtaking view of the Rhune: relax in the jacuzzi or sauna to your heart's content (on reservation and at extra cost). Foot reflexology massage available in summer (booking required and at extra charge).
Bikes available for hire to take the "poudre d'espelette" and discover the surrounding area: take the easy, flat "voie verte" along the Untxin, the local river, 600 m from the campsite. This path leads to Socoa beach, one of the beaches in the Bay of St-Jean-de-Luz (8 to 10 min. bike ride from the campsite). Once you've reached the beach, you can continue on; a further 15 min by bike, still on the secure route, this time skirting the incredible bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz, takes you directly to the city of the Corsairs of the Basque Country, with its beautiful market renowned for its fresh, local produce, via Ciboure and its fishing port, once famous for the large tuna boats that came to unload the fruits of their catch.

In the off-season, La Belle is a sleepy place, and you can rely on the many shops and markets in the area to keep you well supplied. If you're a lover of good food, don't hesitate to contact the campsite reception, who will be able to tell you the best places to eat in the region.
The campsite is just 600 m from two renowned restaurants: "Zokoak" and "Milesker", a bakery and the mythical Basque patisserie Pariès (with a store in Paris); enough to treat yourself and immerse yourself in Basque gastronomic culture!
During the high season (06/07 to 31/08), you can fully immerse yourself in the Basque country and discover its culinary delights at the campsite restaurant/snack bar. On the menu, typical and generous home-cooked cuisine using fresh, local produce, this is a not-to-be-missed rendezvous (open for lunch service, between 12 and 3pm, and in the evening from 7:30pm).
Feeling peckish in the afternoon? Make way for the pleasures of snacking and take-away.
For your breakfasts, you'll find fresh bread and pastries prepared and baked on site (ordered the day before for the following day). And if you need it, there's a grocery store with a few emergency products.
Your rental unit is equipped with a plancha... but if the urge to grill is too strong, there are communal barbecues with grills (charcoal required, use subject to prefectoral authorization), so you can get on with it!
For even more services and comfort:
Free Wi-Fi access outside the rental units, laundry facilities with washing machine and tumble dryer (extra charge), ironing board and iron on loan on request from reception, and even an electric hook-up point with two connections on the campsite (details and rates to be consulted on site).
600 m from the campsite, a "Putillenea" bus stop opposite the Lidl store connects you to the Pays Basque agglomeration's "Txik Txak" network (subject to renewal for 2024).

Hello, the campsite is very pleasant, except that we can't put our vehicle next to the mobile home, is a problem, because it is high up, not very practical for people of a certain age, moreover with regard to the bedding, the mattresses are not protected by a plastic cover, not convenient to sleep, the air conditioning is missing, it is too hot, lacks a little crockery (lid, etc;;)
