Location
A renowned winter sports resort, La Plagne is located in the Tarentaise valley, in the communes of Aime-la-Plagne, Champagny-en-Vanoise and La Plagne-Tarentaise. Located in the Savoie department, the resort was created in 1961 in its current form.
La Plagne came to the fore when it hosted the bobsleigh and luge events at the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, and is now a popular destination for sports and mountain enthusiasts.
Comprising eleven village resorts, La Plagne is a paradise for skiing and other winter and summer sports. It has been awarded numerous labels, including Commune touristique, Station grand domaine, Station nouvelles glisses, Station village, Famille Plus Montagne and Station nordique.
