Sea urchin holiday homeIn Santa Maria di Leuca, a famous town in Salento, the last strip of Italy where the Adriatic and Ionian seas embrace, stands the Holiday Apartment Riccio di mare. Santa Maria di Leuca is thus the name that identifies the area of the promontory on which the Basilica stands together with the famous lighthouse (48 meters high, 102 above sea level), while Marina di Leuca is located lower down and is included between Punta Meliso to the east, located at the foot of the promontory, and Punta Ristola to the west. Splendid are the villas with exotic names that dot the coast and which bear the signs of the crossroads of the highly developed Mediterranean cultures in this area. The Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Leuca or De Finibus Terrae, which became a minor basilica in 1990, is the major spiritual center of the whole of Salento.
