On the Atlantic coast, 10 kilometres from Royan, Saint-Palais-sur-Mer is a choice destination for successful holidays in all seasons. With its preserved environment, its beaches, its large pine forests and its Belle Époque villas, it will seduce you from the outset.
The vast coastline of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer offers you no less than five different fine sandy beaches to choose your ideal seaside spot. Your children will enjoy the beaches of Nauzan and the Office for their play clubs and water sports. More confidential, the beaches of Platin and Concié will encourage you to idleness and contemplation of fabulous panoramas. Finally, the beach of the Grande Côte, the most northerly, invites you for several kilometres sheltered from the dunes and close to a vast pine forest. As for leisure activities, you will also have many possibilities between sailing, windsurfing, surfing, paddle, kayaking...
After its nautical pleasures, join the center of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer to discover its heritage. An old fishing village, the commune gradually transformed itself into a charming seaside resort from the middle of the 19th century. From the period that preceded the craze for sea bathing, two monuments remain : the bell tower of the old Romanesque church of the twelfth century and the Newfoundland lighthouse, built in 1772 and 36 meters high. Then join the districts of Platin and Nauzan to admire the many Belle Époque villas. You will undoubtedly be surprised by the diversity of styles : Art deco, Basque and even Romanesque like the superb villa Primavéra.
Then take advantage of the beautiful natural setting of Saint-Palais-sur-Mer to take a few walks. On foot, take the famous Customs path that crosses the resort from north to south. On the way, you will be able to appreciate strange geological formations like the Pont du Diable, the Roche au Moine, the Puits de l'Auture, but also the many squares which dominate the coast. By bike, follow the Vélodyssée route and join La Palmyre or Royan in awe of the splendour of the Côte de Beauté. After your excursions, settle down in a good restaurant to taste the specialities of Saintonge's gastronomy : Marennes-Oléron oysters, gratons, charentaise gagouilles, gigorit, millas, pineau des Charentes...

The confectionery bb located on the edge of beach of mathes is super as well as the restaurant the eclade near. In saujon not far from there we could benefit from watergames inflatable structures on a lake and of an initiation with the wakebord, very good place

Brasserie du Globe to avoid: not friendly and nothing for the handicapped and tables too close. Opposite we eat chips and mussels and they are very nice. Along the sea at BOB very nice. THE CALUMET in Pontalliac : cheap and very professional (to be reserved before).

To eat good salad burgers: "L'insolite" in the centre of La Palmyre. Nice walk next to Maison Blanche and beautiful beach on the Pont du Diable.
