Fishing on foot, sea walks, bird watching and gourmet breaks make Hillion a choice destination for vacations in Brittany.

A few steps away from Saint-Brieuc, Hillion, or rather the Hillion peninsula, bravely advances into the heart of the Nature Reserve of the Bay of Saint-Brieuc. A refuge for some 20,000 migratory birds in winter, such as oystercatchers, sandpipers, geese and many others, Hillion is a small concentrate of nature. At the bottom of this bay known for the amplitude of its tides, one of the strongest in the world, the sea can withdraw up to more than 7 kilometers, revealing to the visitors contrasting landscapes made of immense foreshore which can be contemplated from the GR34, the famous coastal path which goes along the whole Breton territory. Surrounded by the English Channel, with the Morieux cove to the east, into which the Gouessant river flows, and the Yffiniac cove to the west, Hillion is renowned for its 13 kilometers of absolutely magnificent coastline. From its coastal paths, you will be able to see how much mussel farming marks the territory: 10% of the French mussel production comes from the Hillion bouchots! Located east of the Pointe des Guettes, accessible from the beach of Bon Abri, these bouchots visible at low tide are emblematic of the local panorama! Our advice? Don't miss a visit to the Maison de la Baie: a place not to be missed in Hillion, where you can discover all the activities offered in the bay area! After having taken the time to walk around the dunes of Bon Abri, don't miss a swimming break on the beach of Lermot!

But Hillion is also a land of marked architecture! Also, take the time to visit the town to discover its churches (Saint-Jean-Baptiste and Saint-Ronan de Saint-René), as well as the many, many manors located on its territory! The Carbien manor, the Chauchix, the Vergers or the Portes manors, the Georges Palante Villa, the Clos-Guéguen dovecote, the 19th century Château des Aubiers, the Château de Bonabry and its eponymous cross, or the Château des Marais will give you a good overview of the local know-how in terms of architecture. Still on the side of the built heritage, don't miss the Ponts-Neufs Viaduct or the blockhouses of the Second World War that you can discover on the side of the Grouin, Illemont or Guettes points.
