Right in the centre of Brittany, Loudéac is, it can be said, the ideal place to put your suitcases down to visit this region rich in treasures. Between lakes and forests, Loudéac will lead you to discover authentic Brittany, just the way we like it!

About forty minutes from the beaches of the bay of Saint-Brieuc in the north, and an hour from the beaches of the Gulf of Morbihan in the south, the town of Loudéac has enough to make many hearts turn over. A cultural city in perpetual motion, it is appreciated for its dynamism as well as its heritage. Flowered city, very flowery like many Breton cities, it boasts magnificent houses typical of the region, made of old stones easily recognizable, which give it a very special cachet. Also, many are the chapels which, over the centuries, have bloomed here and there in the commune. The Notre-Dame-des-Vertus chapel (1878), the Hospital chapel (1785), but also the Saint-Guillaume chapel (1722), the Saint-Cado chapel (1930) and the Saint-Maurice chapel (1779), without forgetting the Saint-Nicolas church built in blue stone in a Breton style, are all monuments that will give you a good idea of the religious heritage of the commune.

What makes people (re)come to Loudéac is also its nature. Its forest, spread over more than 2500 hectares, is adored by visitors who come to walk and picnic in the shade of its trees. But if it is really a must for your visit, it is indeed the Lake Guerlédan: an immense body of water covering more than 300 hectares, this artificial lake, the largest in Brittany, is a real Eden for sportsmen, photographers and contemplatives. Sometimes compared to the most beautiful postcards of Scotland or Ireland when the vegetation takes on its autumnal colours and the mist invades the lake, this splendid site located 30 kilometres west of Loudéac multiplies belvederes and other spots for photography enthusiasts. On the lake, water sports activities are legion and lovers of water sports will inevitably find something to satisfy their desires in this area. On the Beau Rivage side, you will find one of the largest beaches on the lake, appreciated for its sunshine as well as for the water sports activities it offers: water skiing, boat trips, paddleboat rides, sailing, canoe or kayak trips around the lake, wakeboarding, cruises, fishing... And hiking! Thanks to the 40-kilometre "Tour du Lac" itinerary, you will be able to contemplate all the richness of the local flora and fauna at your leisure, as it is not uncommon for walkers to come across deer and birds during their journey. Other loops, from 3 to 15 kilometres, also line the lakeshore to allow walkers of all levels to enjoy the variety of its panoramas. In addition, thanks to its interesting relief, Lake Guerlédan is a small paradise for mountain bikers, who will find more than thirty marked routes, while riders can enjoy two equestrian circuits: the "Boucle des Liscuis" (30 kilometres) and the "Tour du Lac" (37 kilometres). Finally, the cities of Rennes, Lorient, Saint-Brieuc and its beaches, Vannes or Carnac being less than an hour's drive from Loudéac, it will be easy for you to discover the most emblematic cities of Brittany!
