Ah, Tréguier... On the edge of the Breton coast, Tréguier is one of those destinations for which it is easy to fall in love. Captivating, surprising and above all cultural, this historic city is ideally located to allow you to discover all the splendours of the Pink Granite Coast.
A small town of character entwined between the arms of the Jaudy and Guindy rivers, Tréguier is located just a few steps from the most beautiful beaches of the Pink Granite Coast, in the Côtes-d'Armor region. Capital of Trégor, located just one hour from Morlaix and Saint-Brieuc, this ancient episcopal city is above all famous for its rich medieval heritage, which you can discover by walking through its streets. To enter Tréguier, pass through the city's Gates: framed by two high pavilions leading to the quays, they are decorated with superb houses with coloured wooden panels that invite you to visit. Our good advice: wear good sneakers, there is plenty to see in Tréguier as there are so many buildings! Its most imposing monument? Its cathedral, undoubtedly: built during the 14th and 15th centuries, Saint Tugdual Cathedral owes its name to the Welsh monk Tugdual, whose Breton legend says that he was elected Pope. A central point of the city, it is worth a visit both for the beauty of its high rooms and for its typical architecture of the time. But what is really worth a visit is the cloister: built between 1461 and 1479, this elegant cloister in the flamboyant Gothic style will amaze you with its splendid lights, its 16 Gothic reliefs of abbots and knights, and its magnificent decorated arches. Then go around the building to reach the Place du Martray: emblematic of Tréguier, it is dotted with many half-timbered houses (there are 57 in the city) and high stone houses. On the latter throne is the statue of Ernest Renan, a famous writer and philosopher born in Tréguier. Go through rue Colvestre to admire its old residences (including the old town hall at n°5, the Hôtel de Tournemine at n°11), then rue Saint-François, the magnificent Place des Halles, rue Ernest Renan to admire the writer's house, rue Treuz, rue des Perderies, to finally discover the Place de la République. Take rue Saint-André to see the former Trésorerie du Chapitre, the Art Deco style post office, and finally land on the quays of the Tréguier Marina. In Tréguier, we don't go to the port, we go "to the Quays" you see; stroll along the boats, for an iodized break and why not gourmet, in one of the restaurants located facing the river.
Hikers? Tréguier enjoys a perfect location to discover some of the most majestic sites in the Côtes-d'Armor. How not to mention Plougrescant and its famous Chasm in which the tumultuous waves of the English Channel crash (also known for its house between the rocks), the Men Ruz lighthouse (in Ploumanac'h) worthy of the most beautiful postcards in the region, but also the island of Bréhat (nicknamed the island of flowers) located a few cables away... It is also impossible not to mention the incomparable Sentier des Douaniers en bord de mer (the GR34), which offers sumptuous panoramas on the turquoise of the water and on the pink of the granite which borders the coast of this little paradise corner. Finally, for swimming, in the direction of Plougrescant, Penvénan, Trévou-Tréguignec, Louannec, Saint-Quay-Perros for its seawater pool and diving platform, or Perros-Guirec, all seaside resorts where you too can discover the joys of water sports, from surfing to windsurfing, dinghy, catamaran, sea kayak, kitesurf or paddle... For a holiday you will remember for a long time!

Stroll along the pink granite coast (from Tregastel to St Brieuc without forgetting the Ile de Bréhat). Famous creperie next to the cathedral of Tréguier and also the fishmonger in the rue Renan in Tréguier (succulent seafood platter).

Unfortunately, it was a rainy week and a little late at the end of the season! The Granite Coast remains to be seen whatever the weather, without missing the "Les Flots" creperie on the port of Perros-Guirec. Probably one of the best.
