What makes you want to come on holiday to the village of Les Anses-d'Arlet? Its incomparable charm. At the extreme southwestern tip of Martinique, next to the Trois-Îlets and the Diamant, the village of Anses-d'Arlet covers an area of nearly 26 square kilometres. Its coastline is bordered by 18 kilometres of superb coastline, stretching along three main coves: Le Bourg, Grande Anse and Petite Anse. A postcard village on the edge of the South Caribbean coast, it seduces by its undeniable cachet, made of small colourful fishermen's houses. Its typical Creole houses, its small church, its green mountains, and its pontoon that juts out into the sea from the church give it a crazy charm. The Saint-Henri church is one of the most photographed sites in the whole of Martinique! Destroyed in 2007 by a hurricane, it has since been rebuilt identically and is now listed as a Historic Monument.

But the real asset of Anses-d'Arlet is its nature. Generous, abundant and full of relief, it is particularly suitable for outdoor activities. Several hiking routes start from the town, including the coastal footpath that runs along the Morne Champagne (panoramic view of the village and the pontoon), the Grande Anse, the Anse Dufour and the forests of the Morne Réduit. The mornes (hills) are also worth seeing, most of them offering incredible panoramas of the villages below, the sea and the white sandy beaches. Several volcanic peaks will delight walkers and photographers, such as Morne Larcher (478 metres), Morne Baguidi (194 metres), Morne Yoyo (294 metres), Gros Morne (264 metres), Morne Bigot (467 metres), Morne Réduit (307 metres) and Morne Mathurin (273 metres). A paradise for water sports, Les Anses-d'Arlet is full of ideas for activities to win the hearts of the whole family. Near the pontoon, many tropical fish come to swim, a real godsend for scuba diving and photography fans who can discover some beautiful and colourful specimens at leisure with a few strokes of the fins. Other spots have blossomed over time along the coast, allowing the observation of the seabed, fish and turtles that have made their home in the region. Surf, paddle, jet-ski, water-skiing, quad biking, kayaking, swimming, lazing around in the sun and gourmet tastings of lambi, fierce, rum, accras, cinnamon apple and smoked chicken will crown this stay in Martinique with success!
