Looking for a holiday in the sun, long sandy beaches where you can rest and swim in the water of your dreams ? Set course for one of the most attractive cities in the province of Barcelona : Malgrat de Mar. Located not far from the mountains of the Serralada Litoral and bordered by the Mediterranean, this seaside resort enjoys a temperate climate, guaranteeing warm summers and mild winters. Ideally located, Malgrat de Mar is only 65 kilometres north of Barcelona and 2 hours from the French border, making this small coastal Catalan town a popular tourist destination all year round.
Ideal for family holidays, Malgrat de Mar can be proud of the label "Destination de Tourisme en Famille" since 2007. It's not boring here ! On the program of your days : swimming, relaxation, water sports and long hours of sunbathing in front of a clear Mediterranean sea. In all, this resort on the Costa de Maresme (bordering the Costa Brava) stretches over 5 kilometres of splendid beaches. With your family, head towards Astillero beach : lined with picnic areas and typical bars, it is ideal for beach games, swimming and fishing. The beach in the centre, on the other hand, is particularly fond of recreational and sports areas for children : they will be able to enjoy inflatable castles placed at their disposal as well as fun activities under the supervision of animators. A little further on, at the mouth of the river Tordera, is the largest beach in Malgrat de Mar : the beach of La Conca. It is the favorite place of nature lovers: indeed, this beach has the particularity of being almost virgin, which is rather unusual on the coast. Perfect for quiet moments, you can also take sailing lessons and kitesurf. Water sports fans will appreciate the various activities offered by the city : introduction to water skiing, windsurfing, or paddle will not fail to occupy your sporting afternoons.
Also take the time to discover the city of Malgrat de Mal, its historical and architectural treasures. Its historic city centre lends itself to strolling, with the liking of certain monuments bearing the undeniable imprint of modernism. The church of San Nicolás, with its octagonal bell tower, large baroque organ and neoclassical façade, stands out from the other buildings. Built in the 12th century, it was in turn a refuge, a military bastion and a place of worship which today is open to visitors. Walk up to the hill where the castle of Malgrat de Mar is located, from where you will enjoy an unobstructed view of the city and its surroundings. Stroll through this old fishing village, through its narrow streets dotted with small bodegas, shops and wine bars where the atmosphere is there. Spain is also a unique gastronomy, known for its fabulous generosity to which Malgra de Mar is no exception. Here, the cuisine highlights local products such as fish and seafood, which you will find mainly in delicious paellas. The city is full of friendly restaurants, like the "Casa Bella" located near the station, or the "Casa Nova", on the promenade facing the sea. Tapas, tortillas, local cheeses, olives, tomatoes, fried squid and generous platters of cold meats will be at the rendezvous of all the good tables.
Finally, after a good meal, enjoy a walk by the sea before going to one of the city's discotheques : Malgrat de Mar is also known for its nightlife, and has several clubs in which you can party until daybreak !

Visit Pals and Tossa de Mar, two beautiful medieval towns. For beaches, go to l'Escala (a beautiful sandy beach) or to Lloret de Mar for a nice beach too (but with small stones).

Not much to do Malgrat de Mar except the large Fransesc Macia children's park with the possibility of a picnic (picnic table present and in the shade for some). Otherwise, go for a walk in Blanes (pedal boat rental with slide).

Very pretty corner, the beach is pretty but provide parasol, rough sea not very suitable for children (many stones, provide shoes).
