Catalonia is not one of the first tourist destinations in Europe without reason. With its bustling capital, magnificent beaches, charming countryside, extraordinary heritage, famous gastronomy, it offers visitors an incredible palette of surprises.
A stay in Catalonia would necessarily have a taste of unfinished business without a visit to its capital. Modern, cosmopolitan and extremely lively, Barcelona is indeed an unusual city. Walking through its streets, you will enjoy its Mediterranean atmosphere, its seafront, its green spaces and especially its prodigious heritage. But many other enchanting places await you in Catalonia. Water sports enthusiasts will be able to visit many beaches of the Costa Brava, the Costa Dorada or the Costa Brava and discover beautiful seaside resorts : Sitges, Salou, Lloret de Mar... Hiking or mountain biking, notably in the stunning volcanic area of La Garrotxa or in the Aigüestortes National Park, full of lakes. In winter, the ski resorts of the Catalan Pyrenees will delight skiers.
After these sport activities, visit the impressive archaeological site of Tarragona, the Cistercian abbey of Poblet and the Romanesque churches of the Vall de Boí, classified as Unesco World Heritage. Afterwards, visit Figueres to admire the Dali Theater-Museum, a delirious artistic labyrinth created by the painter himself in Girona to see the cathedral and the Jewish quarter in Vic for his episcopal museum. In these cities or in Barcelona, you can also enjoy the excellent gastronomy of Catalonia, with such varied influences (Greek, Italian, French) and which honors fish, seafood, olive oil and fresh vegetables. On the menu : tomato bread, grilled onions with shoots, fish soup, charcuterie...
