Bewitching and dancing, Seville is a destination that will make you fall in love with Andalusia. Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, Seville can be visited in both winter and summer. If it is common to be able to walk there in t-shirt in December, the summer is as for him very (very) hot since the temperatures can reach without concern the 40°C. It is certainly in spring that Seville is most coveted, on the occasion of the "Semana Santa" and the "Feria de Abril", where tourists and Sevillians mingle with each other in a festive atmosphere.
Seville is one of the largest historical centres in Europe. With its bold architecture, sumptuous squares, churches and luxurious palaces, this amazing city will not leave you unmoved. In the centre of the city, stands the famous Notre-Dame du Siège Cathedral : imposing, this Gothic building will surprise you with its complex and original architecture. Fastidiously decorated, it houses numerous works of goldsmithery, paintings representing the life of Christ as well as the tomb of Christopher Columbus. Climb to the top of the Giralda bell tower (an old minaret) to be able to contemplate a unique panorama over the whole city. Just next door is a real jewel, to visit absolutely : it is the Palace of the Alcazar. This Moorish building perfectly embodies the preciousness of Andalusian architecture: its gardens and magnificent fountains make it a perfect place for walking. Not far from there, make a stop on the Spanish square, in the shape of a hemicycle: built on the occasion of the Ibero-American exhibition of 1929, it is one of the most grandiose monuments of Seville. Its canals, tiles, bridges, fountains and benches all have a story to tell. It is also a must for fans of the Star Wars saga, since it was used for the shooting of episode II, "L'attaque des Clones". Further to the left of the square, take the time to visit the old royal tobacco factory : now converted into a university, push its door to see its patios and its superb fountains. At the corner of San Fernando Street, you will find the Gardens of Murillo. Its century-old trees and colourful vegetation offer visitors in search of freshness an ideal setting for a break. The typical Santa Cruz district is also worth a visit: this former colourful Jewish quarter is full of narrow streets, squares and terraces, perfect for cooling off under the Andalusian heat. Nestling in the shade of its orange trees, continue your discovery of Seville by going to the flowered haven of peace of the Casa de Pilatos, for a few hours of relaxation.
The city is also home to a wide range of museums : the Fine Arts Museum, the Flamenco Museum, the Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art and the Ceramics Museum make Seville a major cultural capital.
