Nestled on the gentle slopes leading to the Mediterranean, between Menton and Monaco, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is located in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes coast a few kilometres from the Italian border. Cultural, historical and fascinating, this medieval city with its southern accents inspires the sweetness of life thanks to its old stones and its charming seaside.

What do Empress Sissi, Jacques Brel, Coco Chanel, Winston Churchill and Le Corbusier have in common? Their love for Roquebrune-Cap-Martin. This historic city with its many faces, which has been a constant delight to the hearts of people for hundreds of years, is an invitation to let go and stroll. Divided into two parts, the city is made up of a medieval village perched on a hillside, and a seaside resort where holidaymakers flock. Take the time to get lost in the maze of squares and alleys that make up the historic part of the city: here, arched passages (rue Pié in particular), elegant fountains, colourful residences and high fortified gates are legion ! Go through the Place des Deux-Frères, discover the washhouse, the replica of the forge, but also the church of Sainte-Marguerite, go through the rue Montcollet, the Place du Capitaine Vincent (famous for its breathtaking panorama of Monaco), discover the famous "Olivier Millénaire" on the way to Menton (16 metres high) then take the time to admire the view from the monument dedicated to the Empress of Austria Sissi. Impossible during your travels to pass by the medieval castle that dominates the whole city; built in 970 by Conrad 1st, Count of Ventimiglia, this defensive castle had the mission of guarding and protecting the border in the event of a maritime attack. Enlarged by the Grimaldis during the 15th century, this immense castle is really worth a visit: with its narrow streets carved out of the rock, its centuries-old stones and its high towers topped by battlements, this castle is a postcard of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin on its own! If the visit is worth it, it is also for the unbeatable panoramas that it offers to its visitors over the whole of Cap Martin, Monte-Carlo and Monaco below.

Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is also a fertile land with lush vegetation, a huge open-air playground perfect for hiking enthusiasts who can stroll in the shade of the pine forest and mimosa beds. We recommend the "Tour du Cap Martin" from the Promenade du Cap via the Promenade Le Corbusier, as well as the "Chemin de Menton", the Mont Agel trails, those leading to the viewpoint of the Rossignola or the Mont Gros trail (GR52), which from its summit at an altitude of 700 metres offers unique views of the coast below. Lovers of thrills will also enjoy this little escapade for a glimpse of Roquebrune and its bay by paragliding or hang-gliding... Sensations and memories at the end of the day! The coastal path is also extremely beautiful: ideal for families, this 3 km trail will allow you to contemplate the splendours of the coast, from Roquebrune to Menton. Finally, after a good walk, nothing beats a swim on the beaches of the resort! The beaches of Beach, Golfe Bleu, Buse, Piscine or Carnolès will be perfect for your relaxing moments. Sea outings, paddle, scuba diving, sea kayaking, water skiing, surfing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, sailing, kitesurfing and longe-côte will complete your holiday programme.
