Around fifty kilometres from Bordeaux, Lacanau Océan is one of the most important seaside resorts on the Atlantic coast. Sheltered by dunes and surrounded by nature, the beaches of Lacanau seduce every year many holidaymakers, bathers as surfers. The "North Beach" is the largest since it spreads over several kilometres : it is very appreciated by surfers who, from sunrise to sunset, come here to try to tame the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. The "Central Beach" and the "South Beach" are also very popular surf spots in the region, although less frequented than the "North Beach". The "Super Sud" beach is certainly the wildest in Lacanau Ocean: much less popular than the previous ones since it is located in an unsupervised area, it is conducive to long relaxation breaks facing the sea. Is it necessary to specify that here too, as on all the beaches of Lacanau, surfing is king ? The beach farthest from the city centre is the "Plage du Lion" : wild, bordered by dunes and a wide green pine forest, it is only very little frequented and will make the happiness of holidaymakers in search of peace, far from crowded beaches. Sand as far as the eye can see, tranquility and swimming : what more could you ask for ?
Lacanau Océan is undeniably sporting and the ideal place for an initiation to a wide range of activities: at sea, in addition to surfing, you can canoe, stand-up paddle, sail, water skiing, fishing and boating. In the air, why not let yourself be tempted by a parachute jump at an altitude of more than 4000 meters ? Finally on earth, you will have only the embarrassment of the choice : petanque, accrobranche, paintball or karting, without forgetting golf ! Lacanau is famous for its 3 golf courses with sea views : the UCPA Lacanau, the UCPA de la Méjanne and the Ardilouse golf courses will allow amateur golfers to perfect their swing under the maritime pines. Lacanau is also the perfect place for beautiful bike rides, on foot or on horseback. Those made with family, friends or lovers, by the sea or at sunset, through pine forests, coastal paths, oyster fields, lanes lined with seaside villas, Médoc vineyards and wild dunes... Walks that will allow you to discover the exceptional beauty of this corner of the Gironde.
