With its wide beaches proudly flying their Blue Flag, Palavas-les-Flots invites you first of all to enjoy the softness of the Mediterranean. On the fine sand, you can relax for long hours or indulge in many activities : beach volleyball, beach soccer, beach tennis... Then taste the pleasures of the sea by swimming or practicing the water sport of your choice : sailing, windsurfing, kayaking, diving, paddle, kitesurfing, towed buoys... Ideal for children thanks to their gentle slope, the Palavasian beaches also offer many animations : maxi trampoline, inflatable structures, playgrounds, accrobranche, sand castle competitions...
An old fishing village, Palavas-les-Flots has preserved its authentic character. In the morning, go to the harbour quays to watch the return of fishing and the sale of fresh fish. Then take a stroll through the old streets surrounding the harbour and enjoy the old traditional houses. Continue your walk by discovering the heritage of the station : the Saint-Pierre church, the museum of the cartoonist Albert Dubout, the Museum of the Train... Also take the time to visit the emblematic monument of the city : the Mediterranean lighthouse. This former water tower has been refurbished and now houses a convention centre, the Tourist Office and a revolving panoramic restaurant. From the top of its 64 meters, accessible by elevator, you will benefit from a breathtaking view.
Hiking and nature lovers will also be won over by Palavas-les-Flots. Behind its beautiful coastline, the resort has an important lagoon heritage consisting of four large ponds. Many trails allow you to appreciate the flora and fauna (flamingos, herons, terns...) but it is also possible to walk by canoe. Other paths can take you to the Maguelone cathedral, a jewel of Romanesque art in Languedoc or to the archaeological site of Lattes and its museum. Back in Palavas-les-Flots, treat yourself to a good table to savour the delicious local recipes : fougasse, fish soup, cod brandade, tielles, stuffed mussels, Pézenas pâtés...
