The 15th arrondissement is the most populated in Paris and is both quiet and lively. Quiet thanks to its small streets and large green spaces. Animated by its main commercial axes and its exhibition centre. The emblematic building of the district is undoubtedly the Montparnasse Tower. From the top of its 59 floors, it dominates the entire district and thus offers a pretty landmark. If you don't feel dizzy, take the fastest lift in Europe, which will take you 196 metres above the ground in 38 seconds. At the top, the show is guaranteed with an incredible view of Paris and its most beautiful monuments. Just next door, discover another amazing place : the Atlantic garden located above the Montparnasse station.
Near Montparnasse, the Musée Bourdelle is an opportunity for a pleasant cultural break. Installed in the sculptor's former home, it allows to appreciate the studio, left as it is, and exhibits the works of this student of Rodin. The building and garden alone are a source of wonder. Very frequented by artists at the beginning of the 20th century, just like the neighbouring district of the 14th, the 15th has many other artists' studios. See, for example, Villa Marie-Vassilieff, avenue du Maine, and La Ruche, passage de Dantzig. Built in the early 1900s, the Hive is a vast collection of workshops where Chagall, Modigliani and Brancusi lived. Classified as a historical monument, it always welcomes artists and is only accessible during Heritage Days. But by taking the passage, you will be able to admire its entrance and some workshops in facade.
Then take advantage of the borough's large parks to relax. Georges Brassens Park has a lovely fragrance garden, a pleasant children's playground and hosts an antique and second-hand book market every weekend. The André Citroën Park, created on the site of the former Citroën factories, also offers vast spaces for children and is particularly relaxing thanks to its numerous water fountains and waterfalls. Revigorated, you can go shopping in rue de Vaugirard, rue Lecourbe or at the foot of the Tour Montparnasse. To restore you, you will find many appreciable addresses beside the stations of metro Convention, Vaugirard and Montparnasse.
