Located in the Valmorel domain, the village resort of Doucy-Valmorel is both calm and friendly, combining the modernity of its facilities with the typical charm of its mountain chalets. From its 2832 meters of altitude, the Grand Domaine de Valmorel, its numerous ski lifts and its sumptuous snowy landscapes will not leave you with ice. Every year, the resort welcomes numerous skiers, novices and experts on its 150 kilometres of ski slopes. On foot, ski or snowshoe, discover the splendid immaculate panoramas of the Tarentaise valley. Between Valmorel, Doucy-Combelouvière and Celliers, nearly 50 kilometres of hiking trails are accessible to beginners and experienced walkers. Through valleys, plateaus and snow-covered slopes, you will discover the diversity of the relief of the Savoy mountains.
In winter, many activities are proposed in the heart of these mountains covered with a thick white coat so that you can enjoy the best of the beauty of the landscapes. Cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, tobogganing, quad biking, night skiing, bobsleigh, paragliding above the mountains or even sleigh rides pulled by Nordic dogs : you will have understood, the activities are many and varied. Let yourself be tempted by an initiation to yoga in the open air or Nordic walking : this playful sport allows you to exercise while enjoying the superb mountain landscapes. Trendy activity to test absolutely, in family or between friends : the airboard. Lying on an inflatable sled, you will discover sliding under a whole new angle by shaving the snow at full speed and in descent : strong sensations guaranteed ! Finally, the children will be able to perfect their skills during group or individual ski lessons which will perhaps allow them to pass their first star.
Back from skiing, the skiers, tired from their day on the slopes, will appreciate the spa of Les Cîmes and the numerous installations of the resort. Enjoy the hammam, jacuzzis, massage rooms or sauna : relaxing and zenifying atmosphere guaranteed !
Finally, after spending the day in the snow, you will only want to eat ! The resort is full of restaurants : Le Petit Savoyard, La Vache Orange, La Marmite or La Table du Berger will delight the gourmands. Don't leave without having tasted the cold meats, Savoy cheeses such as reblochon, beaufort, tomme de Savoie, but also local dishes such as fondue, raclette and tartiflette, real institutions of winter sports gastronomy !
