What impresses visitors passing through Artà is its ramparts: enclosing the city for centuries, the ramparts of Sant Salvador offer superb views of the old town of Artà below. The city is dominated by an imposing Gothic church, the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, which we strongly recommend you visit for the splendour of its arches and stained glass windows. Then go back down into the heart of the village to stroll along Carrer Ciutat (the shopping street), before discovering the Santuari Sant Salvador (the Sanctuary of Saint Saviour). Above all, Artà enjoys a superb and well preserved architecture; Also, during your visit, you will cross the path of many old buildings such as the Casal de Can Sureda (a 16th century residence), the Casal Marques (15th century), the Moli d'en-Leu (a 17th century mill), the seigneurial house Posada dels Olors (17th century), but also a whole host of Art Nouveau style buildings, recognizable by their elegant curves and ochre coloured stones. The surroundings of the village have a multitude of sites to see, such as the hermitage of Betlem, the Talayots de Ses Paisses, the priory of Santa Maria de Bellpuig or the Franciscan convent of Sant Antoni de Padua.

Hikers? Artà has a wide choice of hiking trails for all levels and all desires, through its mountains, and its fertile plains planted with olive trees and dwarf palms. The Manacor-Artà Greenway is well known to cyclists passing through the region, who will be able to enjoy exceptional views of Artà, the sea and the surrounding villages. The Natural Park of the Llevant Peninsula, the caves of the Canyamel coast, but also the natural reserves of Cap des Freu and Cap de Ferrutx are also strongly recommended to discover all the splendour of the coasts of Artà, rich in superb fauna and generous flora.
