Location
Caen is a pretty town in north-western France, located in Normandy. It is known as the "City of a Hundred Spires", like Rouen. City of William the Conqueror and capital of the Duchy of Normandy along with Rouen, the town has inherited a rich architectural heritage, some of which was destroyed during the Battle of Caen. This city is sure to delight history buffs, with must-see sites such as the ducal château, the Abbey aux Dames, Saint-Pierre church and the Rue Froide in the old town!
