Nestled in the heart of the Southern Alps, the Pra-Loup site seduces many winter sports lovers every year. It is located in the commune of Uvernet-Fours, in the Ubaye valley. This modern ski resort has long attracted visitors, starting with the shepherds who came from the shores of the Mediterranean to find fresh grass for their herds over a thousand years ago. Many buildings still present on the site were built over the centuries, first by the monks then following the development of pastoralism. This peaceful past gives Pra-Loup an undeniable authentic charm, which contrasts with the modernity of its estate.
The Pra-Loup ski area was created in the 1960s by doctor and philanthropist Pierre Grouès. Pra-Loup 1500 is one of its two stations. Also called Molanès, its friendly atmosphere and its small typical chalets make it a resort particularly appreciated by families looking for peace and quiet. It gives access to an area with nearly 100 kilometres of marked trails as well as a snowpark for new skiers. Pra-Loup has also joined forces with the neighbouring resort of La Foux D'Allos to create the Espace Lumière. The possibilities are multiplying on this large connected domain : 180 kilometres of slopes, two snow parks, three sledging areas... Impossible to get bored !
For non-skiers who love snow or those for whom skiing has no more secrets, Pra-Loup 1500 has many other winter activities that will satisfy all your desires. We start with snowshoeing through the surrounding forests and alpine pastures. Marked itineraries alone for regulars or with a mountain guide take hikers to the depths of the silent and sparkling nature. Want a family activity that promises laughter and good mood ? Let yourself be tempted by Pra-Loup's outdoor rink. We're all twirling together on the ice and under a winter sun, a delight ! Finally, don't miss the ultimate new slide to do with several : the snakegliss ! It is a "train" made up of several sleds attached to each other. Led by a guide, you will run down the tracks in single file at high speed. Ideal as an after-ski activity !
Pra-Loup 1500 is no less active during the summer months. The resort promises a wide choice of sports using the mountain's natural resources, such as whitewater sports. Rafting on the Ubaye river, famous for its superb rapids, or canyoning in the heart of the natural gorges : this is only a small taste of everything you can do in Pra-Loup. Mountain bikers will also find their happiness : the valley has nearly 340 kilometres of marked trails of all difficulties. At Pra-Loup itself, you will find 7 downhill slopes open throughout the season that promise plenty of thrills !
